Sending Smiles across the miles... bees DL card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun DL card using stamps and a pre printed sentiment...
- I created the background using Cosmic Shimmer Neon polishes (Pink, Yellow and Red) which I did by adding some of the polish on to a glass mat and watered it down a bit so they became more of a wash and painted them on blending them in to create an ombre effect.
- Whilst it was drying, I cut out a panel of black card using the Creative Expression Slimline Collection - Stitched Oval aperture trio die which cut within the card so if you want to use the panel itself you could cut it out to fit first.
- To make sure the ovals were in the right place on the background, I used the panel I had cut out, placed it over and added a dot in the middle of each of the ovals so I knew where to add them.
- I then stuck them to the card with PVA glue and added it to a panel of black card which is slightly bigger (I had rounded the corners with the Hunkydory's Prism punch) and stuck the whole thing to the front of a DL white card (again the corners are rounded).
- I then stamped out the Bee images from Crafter's Companion Gemini Swirling Bee collection and fussy cut around them rather than using the accompanying dies once I had coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.
- I stuck them all on to the black oval panels using PVA glue.
- Finally, I cut the sentiment out from the printed sentiments from Lisa Horton and added it to the middle of the card using foam pads.
