Let's Go on an Adventure - shipwreck DL card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is an quick and easy card using just stamps and some inks....

  • I first of all took a white DL card and rounded the corners using my Prism (from Hunkydory) punch.
  • I then measured a piece of white super smooth stamping card so that it would fit about 3/4 of the front of the card.
  • I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks from Speckled Egg to Salty Ocean and created the background, trying to make it lighter at the top.
  • I then spritzed it with some water to lighten parts of it and let it dry.
  • Once it was dry, I took the Treasures of the Sea Rubber Stamp from a collection of silhouette stamps by Creative Expressions Designer Boutique range and inked it up with Gina K Obsidian Black ink and stamped it on to the background, making sure that it was all inked properly.
  • I then stuck it to the top of the DL card with PVA glue.
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the same collection on to some white card (again using the Gina K Obsidian Black ink) and fussy cut around it and then glued it to some card that I had coloured using the same inks but this time the brighter colours.
  • I fussy cut around that and then used some thin foam strips to attach it to the top of the card.

So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:-
