Happy Birthday cute elephant 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I really enjoyed making this card as I was practising using my alcohol markers along with some Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.... read on if you want to know how I made it... I used both the die and mat layer from the Elephant set from Tattered Lace and cut the former out in white and the mat layer in Lynda Chapman's Black card. I then coloured the elephant in using Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers (grey shades) until I was happy with the result. I attached the topper on to the layer using PVA glue. I used various pastel Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to colour in a rainbow background on some Yupo paper and fixed it with some cheap hairspray. I had a previously cut out frame in black card which fitted the rainbow background and stuck that to it using PVA glue again. I then attached that to a slightly larger piece of black card and trimmed it so there was a narrow border around it. I took a Corner Punch from the Prism range from Hunkydory and rounded the edges of a 7" ...

Steampunk Lady and Gentleman DL cards - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well you have two for one today! I really love these dies from Dawn Bibby and had great fun making these cards as they are very simple to make. The dies could be cut directly into the front of your card if you want an edger effect but I decided not to do it this way for these cards      I first of all cut both dies out using Lynda Chapman's Black card from Creative Crafting World - you could add some self adhesive sheet to the reverse so you don't have to get glue everywhere.  I then stuck them to the left hand sides of two DL cards using PVA glue, trimming them once the glue had dried to make them fit perfectly. I had allowed a space on the right hand side of the cards and so used two different sentiments from Lisa Horton set (the pre-printed ones not the stamps but you could easily stamp sentiments on to the cards). I then added 3 Nuvo drops at the top and bottom of the card to add some dimension.  So if you think this sounds interesting then...

Well done! Hedgehog in oval frames C6 card - 365 Day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I think this is a really fun card (it is a white card honest!) using a Hedgehog stamp and some Nesting dies... I cut out the nesting dies using the larger one for the Purple card and a smaller one for the white card and glued them together using PVA glue. I then used Potters Clay Memento ink to stamp the Hedgehog image on to the middle of the white card - the Hedgehog is part of the Animal collection from Sweet Dixie and is really great to stamp with. I didn't bother to colour it in as I thought it looked great as it is. I then used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to stamp the Well Done sentiment from the same set in each corner. Finally, I added some black Nuvo drops to opposite corners. And there you are a really quick and easy card that looks great.      So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:- Follow us on Twitter       Like us on Facebook           Like us on Pinterest       ...

Love roses and single rose bud 6in white card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one I am really pleased with and I hope you like it too! I took a piece of white stamping card that measured 5" square and stamped the single rose bud in each corner and then added the leaf to the middle of each of the spaces left. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink as it can be used for both alcohol markers and watercolours. I then stuck it to some red paper/card which comes from the Bright Colours 12" paper pad from Crafter's Companion and trimmed it so there was only a small border around it. I used Hunkydory's Corner punch to round the edges and glued that to the front of a 6" white card, the corners of which I also rounded. I stamped another rose bud and coloured it in using a red Spectrum Noir Triblender for the flower and a green one for the leaves. I cut around it and then added it to the bottom flower using foam pads so there is some height to it. I wanted something in the middl...

Happy Birthday bees and flowers A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a really quick and easy card using just some paper toppers and a die set... I really love this Paper Pad collection BumbleBee Dance from the Paper Boutique range by Creative Crafting World and decided to use these two toppers and sentiment from it. The backing paper is part of the collection so I trimmed it to fit the front of an A6 white card and stuck it down using some fingerlift tape - I didn't use PVA glue this time as the paper is quite thin and I didn't want it to show through. The black layer is cut out using a Time for Tea jagged edge die and I used PVA glue this time to attach the topper to it and stuck it to the front of the card again using the same glue. I wanted to balance the design so used the small Bee topper mat and layered on to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card along with the Happy Birthday sentiment again on some black card. I added them to the opposite corners using foam pa...

Smile... Unicorn outline black pearlescent card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is something different for me - I am trying to do various card shapes and this was one of the results! I first of all took a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (they used to be sold by Create & Craft but am not sure they do them now) and rounded the corners using a Hunkydory punch. I then scored the top and bottom of the card using my Hunkydory scoreboard several times. I cut out the Smile frame from Stamps by Me using Lynda Chapman's Black card having first added some Wild Spider Self adhesive sheet to the reverse and placed it on a sheet of bright yellow Adorable Scorable card again from Hunkydory. I then cut out the Unicorn Geometric outline die from Thirsty Brush in the same card (again with sticky roll on the reverse) and placed it in the centre of the card which I used as a tent fold card instead so it is now similar to an easel card but isn't if you know what I mean? Finally, I added some white Nuvo drops to each side of ...

Happy Birthday - bee and flowers DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well today's latest handmade card is again a quick and easy card made using some pieces of paper and a die! I first of all used the Prism corner punch (from Hunkydory) and rounded the edges of a white DL card. I then measured a piece of Vibrant Colours paper from Stamps by Me just a bit narrower than the front of the card and cut it out. I stuck it to some Lynda Chapman's Black card and trimmed it and then added it to a slightly large piece of red card (from Crafter's Companion). I attached the whole panel on to the DL card using PVA glue (gives it a bit of wiggle room). The Bumblebee die is from Tattered Lace and I cut the mat layer in black and the detail die in white cardstock and glued them together again using PVA glue. I then stamped out the "Wishing you a Happy Birthday" sentiment (I can't remember who it is from) on to white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink, cut around it, glued it to some of the matching red card and then some of...

Be Your own kind of Beautiful 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft Addicts! Today's latest handmade card was made using stencils, resist card and stamps... read how I made it below! I first of all took a piece of the flower resist cardstock from Hunkydory and coloured over it using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. When I was happy with the result I used a Microfibre cloth to take away any excess ink. I then used a Sue Bake Modernista dandelion stencil to ink through it to create the next layer. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink for this and the sentiment. I must admit I can't remember where the sentiment came from but thought it went well with the design so stamped it on the right hand side. I attached the panel on to the front of a 7x5in Black pearlescent card which Create and Craft used to produce. And there you are a quick and easy card, the design of which could also be transferred on to mixed media. So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:- Follow us on Twitter       Like us on Facebook      ...

Sometimes all you need is a splash of colour... DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I really love silhouette or outline die cuts and these are no exception! So if you would like to know how I made it then read on! I used my Hunkydory Prism corner punch and rounded the edge (well I did it afterwards which was the wrong way round - so do as I say rather than do as I do!) I then cut a piece of card to fit the front of a DL card (these are from Paper Boutique) and using the Looks Like Rain 8" x 8" stencil from Sheena Douglass, I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink (Salty Ocean) and also some Black ink to colour through it so it looks like rain and puddles! I then cut out the couple and the dog from the same collection by Sheena Douglass in Lynda Chapman's Black card and glued them to the front of the panel using PVA glue. I then edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it to the front of the card again using PVA glue. I used the same Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink to stamp the sentiment (from Honey Doo Crafts) on to some white...
