Wild and Free - Arrow and feathers 5x7in card

Wild and Free - Arrow and feathers 5x7in card

Hi Craft addicts!

Well the sun is shining - what a nice change! I had fun making this card

How I made this card
  • There are two stamps by two different companies with the arrow and feathers as a theme and this one is the Woodware version (designed by Francoise Read) and first of all, I took a piece of White Stamping card (pre cut A6 panels from Rare Earth) and dusted it with an anti-static bag.
  • I then stamped the image directly on to it with some Versamark ink. I covered it with Cosmic Shimmer True White Embossing Powder and then heat set it. I still love this technique!
  • Once it was cool, I then sprinkled it with a variety of Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Shakers - Bright Sunshine, Tangy Tangerine, Lush Pink, Lime Burst, Electric Blue and Purple Paradise and then spritzed it with some water, allowing it to spread over the card.
  • I then dabbed it with some kitchen roll to diffuse the colours a bit.
  • The Green and White background paper is from a Hunkydory 8" paper pad and I trimmed it to fit a 5" x 7" white card, leaving a very narrow border around it. i wanted it to stand out a bit more but didn't want to add any more layers, so I edged it with a green alcohol marker.
  • I used some Pinflair Glue-it glue to attach the striped panel to the front of the card and then added the Arrow and Feathers topper.
  • I had cut the white scalloped frame out ages ago and thought it would be a good way to use it to frame the image.
  • Finally, I stamped the Wild and Free sentiment on to some White card with some Green pigment ink (from Create and Craft's Design Team ink collection), added some Clear Embossing powder and heat set it. I cut around it and stuck it to the bottom right hand corner.
One simple but stylish card that could be great for a Birthday or for Mother's Day.
