You Don't have to be perfect....Kids flying kites on hand coloured background square card  Hi Craft addicts! I had such fun creating the background for this card using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - the rest of the card was made using Tattered Lace Dies and a Stamp by Me stamp..... How I made this card:- I used a pre cut panel of white stamping card (6" x 6" from either Hunkydory or Rare Earth) for the base layer and began colouring the sky in using most of the blue Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - blending them in with my finger as I went - I also found that spritzing my finger with water helped smooth the edges out. I also spritzed more water on to the card and blotted it with some kitchen roll to give the impression of clouds. I then used various green crayons to create the grass, using the darker colours to add some dimension again spritzing it with water to blend it in.  I then used the Black Soot crayon towards the centre of the panel to add some landscap...

Birthday lovelinesss..lighthouse in front of sunset... A6 white linen effect card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is another I have made using stamps, Distress Crayons and dies... it is quick and easy to make too! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course (I like the effect you get if stamping directly on to it). I first of all took a small piece of white card and stamped the Lighthouse (from Pretty Quick) on to it using Black Gina K Amalgam ink, I then coloured it in using red and cream alcohol inks from the Prism range from Hunkydory. Once I was happy with it, I cut around it as close as possible to the edge and then coloured that with a black alcohol ink, I then used a pre cut Oval panel in white card with the matching silver Mirri layer and coloured it in with stripes of Orange, Yellow and Pink Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (blending them in with my finger as I ...

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background  A6 card...  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! I had fun painting the background and then deciding what to use it for - these dog silhouettes were just the right thing! How I made this card:- The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course. I first of all die-cut the dogs (from the Fun, Frolics and Flight Tattered Lace Collection) out in black card. I chose these two as they look as if they are coming from different directions. The card is Lynda Chapman's black card from Creative Crafting World. I then took a small piece of white card (I used stamping card but watercolour card would do just as well) and created the sea scene using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors and Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering watercolour paints. I love these paints as the paper shimm...

Hogs and Kisses... cute pig with parcel on trellis background  7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! Am so glad it isn't as hot today as yesterday, have actually got to make a card which I think is quite cute but stylish too! How I made this card:- The base card I used is an Ivory/cream (7" x 5") which I got from the Core Collection from Create & Craft. I first of all die-cut the larger of the two Moroccan Trellis frames (from Tattered Lace) in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and stuck it with PVA glue to the Ivory Linen effect card from Create & Craft... You could use Sticky Roll or self adhesive backed card to do this too so you wouldn't get any glue seeping out. Using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink, I stamped out the Piggy stamp (from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps Hogs and Kisses collection) onto white stamping card and coloured it in using Prism  Watercolour pencils (any other brand will do the job too).  I fussy cut aro...

Just  Because....Floral B on vellum on hand inked background  A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I have made using stamps, matching dies, some vellum and a hand inked background that I created myself. How I made this card:- This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral A6 white card that is very simple to make.... I used the Stamps By Me Just Because stamp and matching die set and cut out the middle sized B several times in white card and then stamped the floral B on to some white stamping card, placed the die over it, taped it down and cut it out. I coloured the flowers etc out Prism watercolour pencils and blended them in. Using PVA glue, I then attached all of the cut out bits together so that it had some height and then added the actual coloured one on top of them. I used my anti static bag and rubbed it over a strip of vellum (measures 2.5" deep and about 6" long as it needed to fold over the background to attach it). I eyeballed wher...

Happy Birthday abstract flowers large DL easel card. Hi Craft addicts! Haven't posted in a couple of days - have you missed me :) - anyway as it is #TessellatingTuesday - here is a card I have made using a Stamps by Me die and some stamps... How I made this card:- This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral DL card (with an extension) which is a side fold card from Paper Boutique. I used the Stamps By Me Synergy - Lattice 5 Die and cut it out using a sheet of Black self adhesive paper. I didn't want the solid part of the die-cut so I snipped it off  I then removed part of the backing sheet, and gradually adhered it to some white stamping card, burnishing it down as I went. I coloured the flowers in with Pink, Dark Pink, Yellow and Orange Prism (from Hunkydory) alcohol markers. Using PVA glue, I then attached it to the front of the side-fold DL card, making sure that I only added glue to the bottom half of the hexagon shape as I wanted it to be free standin...

Happy Birthday... abstract circles DL Orange card

Happy Birthday... abstract circles DL Orange card Hi Craft addicts! Well it is nearly the weekend so thought I would make this bright and cheerful Birthday card... How I made this card:- This is a lovely and bright Orange DL card which I have used landscape format. I used the Stamps By Me Synergy - Lattice 4 Die and cut it out using a sheet of Black self adhesive paper. I didn't want the panel inside the die-cut for this card, so snipped it off ( I will use it in another project). I then removed part of the backing sheet, and gradually adhered it to both sides of the DL card, burnishing it down as I went. I then took the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp from the Big Birthday Words collection from Woodware and stamped it out on to some white stamping card using an Altenew Jet Black mini cube (I used this ink as it wouldn't be coloured or anything). I trimmed around it and edged it with a Black alcohol marker and attached it to the centre of the card with foam pa...

Happy Birthday hot air balloons on acetate A6 cream card

Image
Happy Birthday hot air balloons on acetate A6 cream card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is definitely a work in progress insomuch that it definitely needs improving.. but if  you want to see how I worked on it so far then read below! How I made this card:- This is an A6 cream pearlescent card with a matching envelope but needed a plain background so cut a piece of white stamping card slightly smaller than the card itself. I used the Stamps By Me Watercolour paints wheel and painted a sky scene using the blue palette. I heat dried it but also left it to dry for a bit. I then took a piece of the Hot Air Balloons acetate that Hunkydory produced some time ago and trimmed it to fit the white panel. This acetate is double sided (gold on one side and silver on the other) and decided to use the latter for this card. I then used a couple of alcohol markers to colour the reverse side of the acetate and when it was totally dry, used my score board to score it at the top to m...

Cheers! Cocktails and more cocktails 7x5in white card

Cheers! Cocktails and more cocktails 7x5in white card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a fun, bright and cheerful one which was easy to make.. hope you like it! How I made this card:- This is a 7" x 5" white card and I used it as a landscape top fold card. I used the Cocktail Stamps from a Rare Earth collection and stamped the two designs directly on to the front of the card using Black Gina K Amalgam ink. I then coloured them in using Hunkydory's Prism Watercolour pencils. Once that was done, I then cut a strip (approx 1") of blue paper (from Create & Craft's Core Collection) and placed in the middle of the card, sticking it down with PVA glue. I also cut out the Ornate frame panel (Spellbinder's) in white card, and whilst the card was still in the die, coloured it with a pale blue dye/distress ink. Once I was happy with the blending, I removed the card from the die and stamped the Cheers! sentiment from the same set as the Cockt...
