Hello Sunshine - parrot and tropical plants square card - Day 99 of my 365 day challenge

Hello Sunshine - parrot and tropical plants square card -
Day 99 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card (for day 99 of my 365 day challenge) is a bright and fun card using Tattered Lace dies and Hunkydory For the Love of Stamps and Masks. Look out tomorrow for a special give away for day 100 of my challenge!

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all placed the Aloha! mask over the front of a 6" white scalloped edged card making sure that there was even spacing all round it and coloured through the border part of it using Altenew red and oranges dye based inks trying to give it an Ombre effect.
  • Whilst that was drying, I cut the parrot out in white card using a Tattered Lace die and coloured it in with blue, purple and red Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
  • I then used the leaf and flowers stamps (filled in ones) from the accompanying For The Love of Stamps collection and stamped them inside the border - using Onyx Black Versafine ink for the larger frond and Altenew inks for the smaller one and flowers (orange and green).
  • I took a pre-cut deckle edged panel in black card and used Versamagic to ink through the larger leaf in the stamp and heat embossed them with Seafoam White embossing powder, heat setting them with my heat tool.
  • I wanted to see what they looked like if I used the Parrot Altenew ink pad over them so stroked the pad over them - must admit I was really pleased with the effect!!
  • I stuck the panel in the middle of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue.
  • I also added the parrot to the left hand side of the panel using some foam pads on the body and glue on the head and tail so it had some dimension.
  • Finally, I stamped the Hello Sunshine! sentiment on to some white card using the Onyx Black Versafine ink, edged it with a pale green alcohol marker and then placed it on to some green card which I had trimmed so there was a small border and added it to the card again with some foam pads.

And there you are a card that is a fun card which is simple to make and would be great to give!
