Have a Fun day fairground scene on DL landscape card -
day 96 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Well it is only 4 days until day 100 of my 365 day challenge and I am trying to think of a give-away - but for the moment, here is my latest card - a fun fairground themed DL card....

How I made it:-

  • I took a piece of white stamping card and trimmed it to 195x95mm as this will fit a landscape DL card (with fold at the side).
  • I wanted the fairground images to look as if they were on a grassy common and so coloured half with blue distress/dye based inks for the sky and the other with green inks for the grass.
  • I was going to use a mix of alcohol markers and Zig Clean Color pens so I used Onyx Black Versafine ink to stamp the various images out and then added some Clear Embossing powder to them and heat set them.
  • As some of the areas within the images were quite small, I decided that I would use the Zig Clean Color pens as they give me greater control - I find Spectrum Noir alcohol markers fine but they do bleed quite a lot (especially the reds).
  • Once I was happy with the colouring, I cut them all out, trying to leave a narrow white border around them all - on a personal note, I do hope Hunkydory start producing dies as well as the stamps as it would make life so much easier!
  • I stuck the Merry-go-round, Helter-Skelter and Big Top straight on to the background using a tape pen and then added the Ferris Wheel with foam pads as it gave a bit of dimension.
  • I then stuck the Have a fun day sentiment on to the bottom part of the panel, and then fitted the balloons and teddy bear to it so that it looked as if he was holding both the message and balloons.
  • Finally, I added the whole panel on to the front of a DL card using a wet glue

And there you are a card that is a fun card which is simple to make and would be great to give!
