Happy birthday and all that jazz sax players on music background - day 102 of my 365 day challenge

Happy birthday and all that jazz sax players on music background - day 102 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

So today's card is once again using up pieces of card and paper that I had previously going to be using for another card but didn't... this time musical themed....

How I made it....

  • i went into Canvas (the Brother Scan n Cut's web app) and used the Image Tracing tool to add the Sax player and then cut it out in black card.
  • I then cut out the Sax player on the right in green card using one of Tonic Studios' dies - I was going to paper piece it but decided against doing that as i think this effect of the solid one on the left and the outline on the right works well.
  • I used Hunkydory's For the Love of Masks All That Jazz to add the border around the card - the ink pad used was the True Graphite Altenew one as I wanted it to be slightly muted.
  • I then masked through the musical notes part of the mask twice (once on each side again using the True Graphite ink. I also did the same with the buildings outline at the bottom.
  • I used Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to attach the Saxaphone players to either side of the card, removing any glue that might have come through the spaces.
  • I then added the musical notes from the accompanying All that Jazz For The Love of Stamps set using Versafine Onyx Black ink so that they appeared to be coming out of the saxaphones and also two other notes on either corner at the top.
  • I finally stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday and all that jazz" on to some white card using Versafine and once it had dried properly, coloured it slightly with some green ink that was left on my dauber and edged it with a green alcohol marker and placed it on to some green card.
  • I then placed it in between the two places with some foam pads.
And there you are a card that is a fun card which is simple to make and would be great to give!
