Distance means...so much - Hand coloured card - Day 309 of my 366 day challenge

Distance means...so much - Hand coloured card -
Day 309 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I have made a slightly different card today for my challenge - using floral stamps from "For the Love of Stamps" by Hunkydory on a 69x184mm aperture card.

Distance means...so much - Hand coloured aperture card

How I made this card:-

  • i wanted to use one of the oval aperture cards I have had for ages, and thought it would be good to try some of the "Floral" stamps in the "Summer Days" Stylish Silhouettes set from Hunkydory.
  • I first of all worked out which was the panel that was going to show through the aperture and drew around the oval lightly in pencil to show where I should stamp.
  • I then coloured the whole of this panel in "Blues", "Greens", "Yellows" using Generation INX and DoCrafts inks.
  • Using the larger of the "flowers" in the set, I stamped 3 of them in using a couple of the colours on each of them - I also stamped the top one "2nd Generation" so that it is lighter and the middle one lighter still.
  • I then stuck the front of the card and the panel using a tape pen, making sure that it was right one!
  • I then coloured the front panel using the same colours - ie "Blue, Greens, Yellows and Reds"
  • Using the smaller of the flowers in the "Summer Days" set, I then stamped all over the front (using the "Blue" dye based ink pad cube from DoCrafts (2nd Generationing (not a word I know) every second one.
  • I stamped the sentiment "Distance means.... so much" on a small panel of white card, which I had coloured using the same inks using "Tuxedo Black" Memento ink and stuck it to the middle of the aperture.
  • Finally, I used a "Black" Zig Millenium fine liner pen to go around the oval aperture (there is an embossed part to make it easier) and then added some "Sea Breeze" Jewel drops (from Nuvo/Tonic Studios) on the dots I had drawn and then some "Caribbean Ocean" Crystal drops to the centre of the flower.
And there you are - a different card for me as it is quite "shabby chic" made using stamps and inks that can be used for all occasions.
