Time for a new start A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade project for my 365 day challenge is one using a mix of dies and stamps to create a fun card. I first of all cut out the two rectangle tags (from Tonic Studios) out in bright blue self adhesive paper (from Dalton Manor) and put them to one side. I decided to use the caterpillar and butterfly stamps from Crafter's Companion Gemini Reveal Collection and stamped them on to some white card with Gina K Obsidian Black ink and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Tri-blender markers. I then cut around them trying to keep to the black lines as much as possible. I took a blending brush with some blue ink left on it and coloured the edge of both the tag (from Hunkydory's Essential Tag pad) and A6 white card. I removed the backing sheet of both label tags and attached them to the tag so that they overlapped each other. I then used a solid tape pen to attach the butterfly and caterpillar to the tags. I used foam pads to adhere the tag to...

I hope your day is full of surprises.. deer and squirrel in silhouette 4in card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a card that could be a gift tag or card - the choice is yours! I first of all rounded the corners of a 4in white card using my Prism (Hunkydory) punch. I then took a piece of watercolour cardstock and coloured a background on it using a mix of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide and Izinks inks and spritzed it once happy with the effect and left it to dry. Once it was dry, I cut it out using the middle sized Circle die in the Petit Picot edge set from Spellbinders. I then stamped the sun on to it from Gemini's Into the Woods pop up die and stamp set and then cut out the main die using Lynda Chapman's Black card. I used a dotty tape pen to attach it to the front of the circle mat layer and stuck it to the front of the 4in card (tent fold) with either PVA glue or a tape pen. I stamped out the sentiment on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and the added it to the bottom of the card with fo...

Hello there my friend... gnome and toadstools 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge has been made from scratch and here is how I did it..... I first of all took the 7x5in die (from Creative Expressions Noble Rectangle die collection designed by Sue Wilson) and cut two pieces of white card and attached them together by scoring about 3/4" from the top of one of them, adding some red liner tape and sticking them together. I then cut out two further pieces, the mat layer in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then one in white. I stuck the black mat layer on to the front of the card and then coloured the white piece using various Izink Dye based ink pads to create a magical looking background. I was playing with the latest Gnome collection that Crafter's Companion's Nature Collection - Gnome Home and Gnome child and created the larger of the toadstools using the dies and stencils and some of Izink ink (what was left on my brushes). I stuck the toadstool towards the bottom of the coloure...

Just a note... boy with puppy DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this bright and cheerful card that would be suitable for a young boy. I first of all coloured a piece of white stamping card using Izink dye based inks to create a cheerful background which I then spritzed with water and left it to dry. Once it was dry I used the largest of a DL slimline rectangle die and cut the background out. I attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card with a solid tape pen and trimmed it so there was a narrow border all around it. I then used the same tape pen and stuck the whole mat layer on to the front of a DL white card which I had previously rounded the corners. I stamped out the James image from Linnie Pink on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and then coloured it in using Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I used the co-ordinating die and cut it out and then as I felt it sort of melted into the background, stuck it to some bla...

The Sky's the Limit.... A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one made using a mix of products and could be for any occasion... I had previously created the background using Creative Expressions Pixie Powders sprinkled on previously dampened Lynda Chapman's Black card and then added a bit more powders and water to it until I was happy with it. I let it dry and then cut a panel out using the Inverted scallop A6 die from Crafter's Companion and put it to one side. I had also coloured a piece of white card, this time with Hybrid inks and cut it out using the same die this time keeping the inside panel for another project. I attached both sections to the front of an A6 white card, the corners of which I had rounded using a punch. I now see that it isn't quite straight but you would make sure it was! I stamped out the Space images from a collection from Crafter's Companion Gemini set using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and cut them out with the co-ordinating di...

So small things..love flowers and leaves 6in square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using just stamps, dye based inks and a corner punch! I first of all took a piece of white stamping card (so many companies now produce this but I use either Sheena Douglass Willow White Card, Hunkydory Stamp/Ink me cardstock or Tonic Studios Craft Perfect) and placed it in a stamping platform, taping it down. I then placed the flower stamp (from the Beautiful Blooms set from Honey Doo Crafts) in one corner and stamped it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I repeated the process, rotating the card by 90 degrees each time. Once I had stamped it in each corner, I then stamped it once again in the centre. I then used the smaller of the leaves stamps and inked it with a dark green (Emerald) dye-based ink from Izink (Aladine) and then stamped it in between each of the flowers. I then edged it with a black alcohol ink marker and attached it to some gold Mirror card with a tape pen and trimmed it so ther...

Congratulations! A6 card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one you could send to someone who has passed their exams or driving test and so on. I used the smallest of the Ornate tags dies from Carnation Crafts and cut the mat layer out in white card and then the main layer out in black card.  I attached the two together using a dotty tape pen as the glue only sticks to the card and not the empty spaces! I can't remember who produced the champagne glasses but I had cut them out in white card and thought I would use them and so stuck them to the bottom of the tag with a solid tape pen. I had also cut out the flower shape (from Lisa Horton) but thought it would look good on this card so stuck it to the top of the card, this time with PVA glue in the centre only. I trimmed a sheet of Paper Boutique's check paper to fit the front of an A6 white card (rounding the corners of both with a punch) - approximately 3.5" x 4.5" and used a solid tape pen to st...

Lovely Friend... flowers 7x5in tent fold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one that could be sent to a friend you haven't seen for some time! I decided to stamp the flower spray (from the Sending Smiles die and stamp collection from Stamps by Me) directly on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card which I used as a tent fold card. Before stamping it, I rounded the corners using my Prism punch from Hunkydory. I put the card in a stamping platform and stamped it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink a couple of times to make sure it was perfect.  I also stamped the Lovely Friend sentiment at the same time at the bottom of the card. I then added some masking tape and inked the left hand side of the card with a mix of Izink Dye based ink pads. I added a narrow strip of red liner tape, removed the backing and placed some black foil on top of it and burnished it so that there was no stickiness left. As the image was stamped directly on to the card, I could only used pencils and so used a mix of Stabi...

Just for You - Gnomes and flowers A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a bright and cheerful one using toppers and dies with a Gnome theme. I decided to use an A6 white card and so rounded the corners using my Hunkydory Prism punch. I used the Creative Expressions Shabby Basics Cheesecloth die and cut it out using Sheena Douglass's Kraft card. Using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Walnut Stain and Gathered Twigs) I dragged them across the die cut to give it a bit of depth and heat set it so it didn't come off on my hand! I used a dotty tape pen to attach it to the front of the card - this pen is great as the glue only lands on the card and doesn't "string". I wanted to use the Gnome collection from Paper Boutique/Creative Crafting World and decided that the floral and gnomes on flowerpots toppers would be idea. I trimmed two of the floral toppers to measure 2.5" x 1.5" and stuck them to the middle of the card again with a tape pen, this time a soli...
