You Brighten my Day... Rainbow butterflies A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a general card that could be sent to someone you haven't seen for ages...... I first of all used several of Ink Lily Glimmer Pens to create a rainbow style background and let it dry once I was happy with the effect. I then took the Create a Card Elegant butterfly die and placed it on the cardstock and once it was in the right place, taped it down with some low tack tape and cut it out. I have noticed I didn't take all the waste out but as the wings aren't stuck down I have since removed them! I then used some of Crafter's Companion Dotty tape pen to stick it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card, ensuring that the wings were kept away from the glue! I trimmed it down to fit the front of an A6 card and used PVA glue to attach the whole panel to the card, trying to leave a narrow border around it. I stamped the You Brighten my day sentiment out on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Bla...

Belated Birthday Wishes flowers DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a Belated Birthday card using dies and stamps... I cut out the Lisa Horton Slimline Bouquet Corner die in both Lynda Chapman's Black card and another from Hunkydory's Adorable Scorable cardstock along with the separate flower. I then rounded the corner of a white DL card using Hunkydory's Prism punch and glued the panel on to the front of the card using a tape pen (I used the Crafter's Companion Dotty one as it only covers the solid parts). I then decided which flowers to use from the green ones cut out from the Adorable Scorable card and attached them to the top and bottom of the flower panel. I think the Belated Birthday is a Stamps By Me sentiment which I stamped on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and then fussy cut around it and edged it with a Black alcohol marker and attached it to the top of the card with some foam pads. So if you think this sounds interesting then ...

The Sky's the Limit - skylines around the world in silhouette DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is using just stamps and Distress Oxide inks. I used a panel of white stamping card and coloured it in using a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks such as Broken China, Salty Ocean and Speckled Egg and tried to give it an ombre effect. Once I was happy with it, I spritzed it with some water and dabbed some of it off with some kitchen roll to make them look like clouds. I then took the Skyline Silhouette rubber stamp - it is called Bucket List from Creative Expressions and inked it with Gina K Obsidian black ink. Rather than stamping it downwards, I placed the background onto my desk and pressed the stamp directly on to it, I know it doesn't give a totally crisp image this way but I quite like the effect. I then repeated the process with the Sky's the Limit sentiment stamp. Finally, I fussy cut around it giving it a wavy edge and stuck it to the front of a DL white card using PVA glue. So if you th...

Kind Friend... handmade 7" x 5" tent fold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using Lisa Horton Dies and some alcohol inks... I took a piece of black Lynda Chapman's card and placed it on some double sided self adhesive sheet and cut out Lisa Horton's Kind Friend mini message die and as it cuts within the cardstock, fussy cut around it so it had a narrow border. I had created a background with an orange/yellow theme with alcohol inks and so removed the backing sheet of the panel and placed it on the background and burnished it down with some paper. I then used the second largest Lisa Horton's Stitched Rectangle die and cut it out in cream card and added the panel in the middle of it using PVA glue. I had also created a background with a variety of Ink Lily Glimmer pens (mainly reds, yellows and greens) and after it had dried, used Lisa's Summer Blooms dies, cut them out and played with the different options until I thought it looked ok and glued them together with...

Good Times! Cocktail glass scalloped card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a plain and simple one made from scratch using dies and stamps. The card has been made from scratch and I took the largest scalloped edge rectangle die from a set from Lisa Horton and cut out two pieces of white card. I then scored one of the longer edges just where the first scallop finishes using my Hunkydory Adorable Scorable and added some red liner tape to it and attached the front part of the card to it making sure they both lined up. I had cut out several of the next size down rectangles (again from the same set as the card itself) and so used one of them to create the topper. I stamped the cocktail glass from the Cocktail range from Thirsty Brush using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink and coloured it in using various colours from Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Neon polishes. I wanted to use them as I thought they would make it stand out. Once I was happy with the result, I then used the Neon pink polish, adde...

Congratulations... flowers 7" x 5" tentfold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a Congratulations card using stamps and alcohol markers.... I took the Scented Blooms stamp from a Jane Gill collection in the Woodware range from Creative Expressions and stamped it on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink as it is a hybrid ink and can be used for both watercolours and alcohol inks. I then used Spectrum Noir pastel alcohol markers to colour the flowers in - I decided to use pink, yellow and lilac colours as I wanted it to look a bit Spring like.  Once I was happy with them, I then coloured the leaves in with a couple of Green Tri-blender markers again from Spectrum Noir and fussy cut around the whole image. For the background I used various watercolour inks and also Cosmic Shimmer Neon Green polish along with adding some a Green/gold Glimmer pen from Ink Lily to the darker part of it and let it dry. Once it was, I stuck the flower topper on to it using PVA glue an...

You Inspire Me! hand made 7" x 5" white card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one I made from scratch! I cut out two pieces of white card using the largest die in the Nested Scalloped and Stitched Rectangle set by Lisa Horton. I took one of the pieces and scored just under the first scallop at the top of the card (using my Hunkydory Scoreboard) and added some red liner tape to it and attached both pieces together so it formed a tent fold card. Using 3 colours from Crafter's Companion Harmony Water Reactive Dye ink pads range - Fuschia, Lemon Tonic and Honey Pot, I first of all used the yellow all over a piece of smooth card, then the Honey pot and finally the Fuschia blending them in to create a sunrise/sunset background.  Once I was happy with it, I spritzed some water on to it and left it to dry. Whilst it was drying, I added some of Lynda Chapman's Black card to a piece of double sided self adhesive sheet - Wild Spider, Create & Craft are only a couple of Companie...

Thank you for everything.. Flower sprays 7" x 5" card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a flower themed one using stamps, dies and Pixie Powders.... I wanted to try something different so stamped the Heliocanthus Flower Spray image (from Lisa Horton) directly on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then used Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders and tapped them directly over the stamped image and spritzed it with water and removed the excess with some kitchen roll. I left it to dry naturally. I then used the largest of the Picot Petite rectangle dies from Spellbinders to cut it out. Using the dotty Crafter's Companion glue pen, I added some to the back of the die cut and added it to some co-ordinating green card, cut it out and stuck it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card which I used in the landscape format. I then stamped out the Thank you for Everything sentiment (from a Woodware collection) with the Gina K ink and coloured the letters in with a green Spectrum Noir Triblender markers. I cut aro...

Love.... Drums gatefold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card was a very simple one to make but good to look at! I first of all took one of the unscored 30cm square cards and used my Hunkydory Scoreboard and creased it at 7.5cm and then 22.5cm and folded them to form a gatefold card. I then rounded the corners using the Prism Hunkydory punch.  The Drum kit background is from the Monochromatic collection by Paper Dienamics and I cut two panels approximately 2.5" each and rounded the corners with a corner punch.  I used a bright pink Spectrum Noir Triblender to colour some of the drum sets in on each of the panels and then stuck it to a slightly larger panel of Gold Mirror card using a tape pen. There is a co-ordinating set of panels from the Paper Dienamics collection and I coloured the drum set again in the matching bright pink marker and added some pale blue Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks to soften the tone. I then used a PVA glue to attach it to the inside of the card h...
