Gnome place like home...7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun Gnome themed card... I took a 7" x 5" sidefold landscape card (from Creative Crafting World) and cut two pieces of green textured cardstock (from Crafter's Companion) to look like grass hills. I attached the lighter shade first and then made sure the darker one was cut properly and stuck that to the card. I used a tape pen as I didn't want any glue to seep through. I love the gnome stamp from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps mini range and stamped it on to some white stamping card with Gina K Obsidian Black ink three times. I coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Triblend markers, keeping to three main colours, Orange, Purple and Pink - I also used a grey to highlight their beards. I also stamped out the Gnome sentiment and stuck it to some of the darker green card, giving it a wavy edge. I cut the Gnomes out leaving a narrow white border around them. I wanted them to be ou...

Just for you.. Have a wonderful day Giraffe in frame card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun, quick and easy one using a Giraffe Creative Expressions stamp. The Giraffe stamp is a red rubber one with a co-ordinating die from a Wildlife range from Creative Expressions and so I stamped it out on to some white stamping card with Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then used some Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers to colour the image in using some neutral colours for the Giraffe itself. Once I was happy (well I wasn't really as I thought the frame needed to be redone..) I decided not to use the die but fussy cut it out myself. I stuck the topper to the front of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (now discontinued from Create & Craft), the corners of which I had rounded with the Prism punch from Hunkydory. I then cut around the two sentiment from Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World and attached it to the bottom of the card with some foam pads. So if you think this sounds interesting th...

Happy Birthday - cute mouse in silhouette 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a cute Birthday card that could be sent to anyone you like! I used the mouse silhouette Paper Cuts Die from Creative Expressions and cut it out using Lynda Chapman's Black Card. I created the sunrise background on some smooth cardstock using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Oranges, Reds and Yellows) or you can used watercolour paints to colour the background too! I then used some PVA glue to attach the silhouette die cut on to it and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I rounded the corners of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card (which are now discontinued from Create & Craft) - I used a punch from Hunkydory's Prism range. I then took a piece of Orange and white dotty paper, rounded the corners and attached a strip of black card to the middle of it (approximately 4.75" x 1") and then stuck both to the front of the card. I used some thin foam pads to attach the topper panel to the centre of the card to...

Made for you with Love Hedgehog card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun one using stamps and stencils and NO dies! I took some non scored cardstock from Red Button and scored it at 3" using my Hunkydory Adorable Scoreboard. I then rounded the corners using their punch from their Prism range and then folded it so that it was a slightly different shape. I used one of Honey Doo Crafts stencils (Forest style) and placed it on the front of the card (putting a piece of paper behind it so it didn't colour the inside of the card and coloured it using Neon Green Creative Expressions polishes. When I was happy with that, I then repeated the process on the right hand side of the inner part of the card. The Hedgehog is a stamp from the Squirrel and Hedehog set from Sweet Dixie's animal range and I stamped it on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I must admit I used a stamping platform as it did need stamping a couple of times and couldn...

Love - Floral spray 7" x 5" top fold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is something you can send at any time and is great to make! I first of all stamped the Floral Wonder image (from Woodware Stamps and designed by Jane Gill) on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then coloured it in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Tri-blenders which I find really good to colour in with but you could use any media to do this with - am going to try watercolour paints next! When I was happy with it. I then took a blending tool and added some Broken China Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink to colour the background I then took some blue watercolour ink, added it to a glass mat and picked some up with a paintbrush and spattered it over the image. I used a picot edged rectangular die to cut a panel out and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I used PVA glue to attach the panel to the front of a top fold card (Paper Boutique landscape cards) and roun...

Just saying hello... floral spray 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one made using some dies, stamps and watercolour paints. I used the Floral Spray die from Stamps by Me and cut it out in Lynda Chapman's Black card which I had backed with Wild Spider Self Adhesive paper (but Creative Expressions do some too). I removed the backing sheet and placed it on to some white card burnishing it so that it was well stuck down. I then used some watercolour paints (Himi from Stamps by Me) to colour the flowers in and let it dry. I also coloured the sky in using blue watercolour paints. I trimmed it and stuck it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card (the corners of which I had rounded using a Hunkydory punch from their Prism range. I then used the Just Saying Hello sentiment stamp and added it to the bottom of the card (I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink). Just a note to say Hello 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this simple but effective card. I took a piece of watercolour card and first of all used various blue shades of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks - such as Salty Ocean and Broken China on the bottom third and then used Oranges and Yellows (from Crafter's Companion Harmony range) on the top two thirds and blended them all in. I then took some water and sprayed it and left it to dry. Whilst it was drying I took some Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and cut out the tree silhouette die (from Tattered Lace Wondrous Wilderness collection). Using some more of the black card, I mat and layered the background on to it using PVA glue and trimmed it so there was a narrow border all around it. I then stuck the tree on to the panel and attached it to the middle of a 7" x 5" white card using foam pads to give it some height. I stamped the sentiment on to some card and stuck it to the top of the panel us...

Happy Birthday to you... Cheetah print neon background - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is a Birthday Card using a variety of great products.... I first of all took a piece of white card and used mainly Pink, Orange and Yellow Neon Polishes from Cosmic Shimmer (Creative Expressions) to create the background which i then left to dry for a bit. I placed the Cheetah (animal) print stencil from Thirsty Brush over it and coloured the background with Obsidian Black ink from Gina K. (I taped the stencil down as I didn't want the ink to get into the wrong places). I very carefully took the stencil away making sure not to smudge the print effect and again left it to dry for a bit. I then attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card with PVA glue and then rounded the corners with the punch from Hunkydory's Prism Range - or of course you could use a die to cut the mat layer out. I used PVA glue to attach the whole background to the front of a 6" white square card, the corners of which I also rounded. I took the ...

Many Happy Returns.. Special Friend Bumblebee DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is a mix of my own background and toppers which I think work quite well.... To create the background I took a piece of white linen effect card and used a variety of Pixie Powders and water from Creative Expressions (well the water is from my home!) - it is such great fun as you never know what you are going to get! I let it dry naturally and then cut it to 3" x 6.5" and used a Kit n Caboodle punch to cut the Art Deco style corners.  I also used the Prism punch to round the corners of a DL card. I then stuck it to some Lynda Chapman's Black Card and trimmed it to leave a narrow border - must admit I have just noticed that it isn't straight and am cross about that! I cut out the BumbleBee topper out from the 12" pad from the Bumblebee Dance collection from Paper Boutique (Creative Crafting World) and stuck it to some more Black card with a tape pen. I used PVA glue to attach it to the front of a DL white...
