Wild and Free - Arrow and feathers 5x7in card

Image
Wild and Free - Arrow and feathers 5x7in card Hi Craft addicts! Well the sun is shining - what a nice change! I had fun making this card  How I made this card There are two stamps by two different companies with the arrow and feathers as a theme and this one is the Woodware version (designed by Francoise Read) and first of all, I took a piece of White Stamping card (pre cut A6 panels from Rare Earth) and dusted it with an anti-static bag. I then stamped the image directly on to it with some Versamark ink. I covered it with Cosmic Shimmer True White Embossing Powder and then heat set it. I still love this technique! Once it was cool, I then sprinkled it with a variety of Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Shakers - Bright Sunshine, Tangy Tangerine, Lush Pink, Lime Burst, Electric Blue and Purple Paradise and then spritzed it with some water, allowing it to spread over the card. I then dabbed it with some kitchen roll to diffuse the colours a bit. The Green and White background ...

Don't be afraid to be great... kitten in flowerpot 5x7in card

Don't be afraid to be great... kitten in flowerpot 5x7in card Hi Craft addicts! Well, I have been playing with colouring animals and have decided I need so much more practice! How I made this card I cut out the Kitten in a flowerpot topper out of white card using the free gift that came with the latest Tattered Lace magazine (Issue 75) and the set is called Hello Petal. I then used alcohol markers to colour the flowerpot etc in (leaving the kitten till last as i want to try something different). I realised that I wouldn't be able to get the right effect with the markers yet (also realising that I do need to move my light to the other side of where I work as the image is always hidden by my right hand lol) so I decided to try colouring pencils (the Colour Blend sets from Spectrum Noir) and I coloured her in using greys and dark greys. Once I was fairly happy with the result, I put it to one side and cut out the Oval shape in Green Mirri card (there is a double ed...

Mum... A6 Mother's Day card

Mum... A6 Mother's Day card  Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend? Here is one card I made recently and I hope you like it! How I made this card I cut out the Paper Cuts Lily of the Valley Edger die (from Creative Expressions) in blue card - I hadn't realised it was quite small but fits an A6 perfectly.  I snipped both ends off and removed all the waste bits using a Pokey tool and then glued it to the right hand side of the card using Pinflair Glue-it Glue. I then cut a panel of Bright Blue card (both shades are part of a pack that Red Button produced some time ago on Create & Craft). I edged it with a darker Bright Blue alcohol marker and attached it to the left hand side of the card using the same glue. I had used the MUM dies (from Craft Buddy) before and these were the "waste" which I decided would go with this design (I must admit I don't usually like green and blue together but this seems to work). I cut a smaller pane...

Hello.... Crane in reeds C6 card

Image
Hello.... Crane in reeds C6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a very quick and easy one to make and here is how I made it... How I made this card I first of all took a panel of white stamping card and cut it slightly smaller than an A6 (or A2) card. I then cut out the crane in reeds die (I think it is a Pretty Quick one) in Black card and stuck it on to the middle of the panel using Glue it Glue from Pinflair. Once it was stuck down, I then tapped some Electric Blue Cosmic Shimmer (Shimmer Shaker) all over it and spritzed it with water until i was happy with the effect it created. I then left it to dry overnight and then used a sponge dauber to edge the panel with Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress ink and then used a Bright Blue alcohol marker to finish it off. Finally, I used one of the Hello sentiments from the Craftwork Cards Year of Sentiments pad and placed it in the bottom right hand corner. I used Pinflair Glue-it Glue to attach the whole panel to the f...

Laugh... girl and flower Z fold card

Laugh... girl and flower Z fold card Hi Craft addicts! I had great fun making this card - I must admit I created lots of different shaped cards using the Tartan background paper and this is one of them.... How I made this card You need 2 5" white cards for this process, and you need to fold the front part of the card back on itself and cut it (to the depth you want the fold to be (this one is about 1.5") and reversed it. I then folded the front of the 1st card back on itself so that the fold was in the middle. I measured each panel (there are 5 in total - the two front pieces and 3 in the Z fold) and cut the tartan paper to fit them - it is an A4 pad so you can get all panels out of one sheet.  I then glued them all on to the relevant panels making sure there was a narrow border around all of them. I had all of the die-cuts pre-cut and thought they would go well with this design - the small girl is from Tattered Lace, the Laugh sentiment is a Tonic Stu...

Mother's Day flowers card

Image
Mother's Day flowers card Hi Craft addicts! I really love using Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons and so I made this card with one of the designs I created. How I made this card:- I used Tim Holtz Ranger Yupo paper as the base for the flower design - I used his Orange, Yellow, Red and Brown Distress Crayons - just added a few flicks of colour to the paper and then quickly used my finger to spread it a bit...  I repeated the process several times, changing the size of the flowers slightly. Once I was happy with them, I then used a damp waterbrush to fade the colours out a bit. I also used some of the Ranger Blue and Green Distress Crayons to add a faded background to it. I trimmed the panel so it measured 3" x 4.5" and edged it with a Black alcohol marker. I then glued it to some Kraft card (American Crafts as it has a linen effect to it) and cut it so there was a slightly wider border around it. I attached the whole panel to the front of a 5"...

Zentangle Abstract fish Birthday card....

Zentangle Abstract fish Birthday card.... Hi Craft addicts! Today's card was great fun to make using a stamp and some alcohol markers.... How I made this card:- These stamps from Imala (an amalgamation between Carley Duff and Toni Darroch) are large so you do need a large stamping platform to stamp them out. I used Gina K Black amalagam ink to stamp it out on to some White stamping card. I coloured it in using a variety of alcohol markers - Crafter's Companion Tri-blends, their normal markers, trying to give some parts a 3D effect. Once I was happy with how I coloured it in, I cut it out leaving a very narrow white border around it. The Blue and White diagonal striped paper is from Paper Dienamics and comes in their set of checks, spots and stripes. I cut it to fit the front of a 5" x 7" Black pearlescent card and attached it using Pinflair's Glue-it glue. I then cut a strip of Black card (about 3/4") that was just the width of th...

Thank you...mouse in white A6 white card

Thank you...mouse in white A6 white card Hi Craft addicts! I really love this Tartan colour combination and thought it went well with this mouse topper from Tattered Lace - if you want to see how I made it carry on reading! 😉😀 How I made this card:- I cut a piece of the Purple Tartan out to fit the front of an A6 white card (approximately 5" x 3.5") and used a Hunkydory's punch to round the corners. I then glued it to the front of the card using Pinflair's Glue-it Glue. I also cut out an oval (with an embossed edge) out in Silver Mirri card (I think it is a Tattered Lace die). I used the same glue to attach the Mouse topper (again a Tattered Lace die cut out in White card) towards the top of the oval. I then stuck both to the middle of the Tartan background. Finally, I had the Thank You sentiment left in the A Year of Sentiments pad (from Craftwork Cards) and glue that to the bottom of the panel. And there you are a quick and easy card t...

Special Wishes... Bird out of cage card

Special Wishes... Bird out of cage card Hi Craft addicts! Well that was an interesting weekend - sun is out now but the wind is still a bit blowy! I had great fun making this card so I hope you will enjoy reading how i made it... How I made this card:- I decided to use up some of my old diecuts which I had cut out ages ago and this time I wanted to use this Birdcage topper from an old Tattered Lace set. I cut out a panel of black card (from Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) to fit the front of a 5" x 7" white card (leaving a border all around it) and used Pinflair's Glue-it Glue to attach it. I then cut a slightly smaller piece of a white and blue dotty paper (from Paper Die-namics) and stuck it to the black card. I also cut a piece of the contrasting blue and white dotty paper and attached it to a strip of the black card and stuck it to the centre of the main panel (looking at it now I see it is a bit wonky). I then glued the bird cage in th...
