Remind me.... floral DL Birthday card

Hi Craft Addicts 

 It has been far too long since my last post and I really must get used to writing one more regularly - I miss the daily challenge that I set myself last year but there is the #thehundreddaychallenge that I hope to take part in soon....


How I made this card..

  • I first of all stamped the flower spray on to some white stamping card (using Gina K's Black Amalgam Ink as you can use it for both alcohol and watercolour inks).
  • Once it was dry, I then used a fine paint brush to add Cosmic Shimmer Masking Fluid to the flower image and then let it dry again overnight.
  • I then used green, purple and blue shades of Dreamees Sparkle Re-inkers to create the background and let that dry too. 
  • Once that was ok, I then rubbed away the masking fluid to reveal the white stamped image - I must admit, I probably wouldn't use the fluid again to do this as it rubbed some of the ink away.
  • I wanted the flowers to be sparkly too, so used one of Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me Gossip Glitter pens to colour them in and a green Sparkle pen to colour the stalks in.
  • Once I was happy with it, I then stuck it to a panel of green and white spotty paper (from Hunkydory) and then a slightly larger one in a co-ordinating plain green paper  - the pad is an 8" double sided one so you get great value for money. I edged the panel with a black alcohol marker.
  • I then stuck the whole panel on to the front of a white DL card using Collall All Purpose Glue.
  • I also used Tonic Studio's Nuvo drops (Limoncello and Black) across the top and bottom of the panel alternately and then drew my pokey tool through them to create a linked effect.
  • Finally, I stamped out the Remind Me how old you are pretending to be sentiment from the same collection, on to a scrap of white card again using Gina K's ink and cut it out to form a sort of cloud and stuck it to the bottom of the card.

And there you are a bright and cheerful flower themed Birthday Card using inks, stamps and Nuvo Drops.

  Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is one that would be great for Valentine's Day and makes use of both dies and stamps! I had cut the backing layer for another project but didn't use it so decided to use it with this one. It is a Rose Gold colour Mirror card and the die is from Stamps By Me (I think). I attached it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using fingerlift tape as I didn't want to have any glue showing. I stamped the cute kids image out on to some white stamping card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink - the stamp is from Bring on the Boys collection from Linnie Pink I coloured them in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Triblenders as they make colouring in so easy with the 3 shades in one pen. I used blue and green Distress Oxide inks for the background and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle.
