Cherish Every Moment - bird on branch A6 white card

Hi Craft addicts!

 I thought I would carry on with my new resolution of writing my blog again with this simple but effective A6 card that I have made for #WorldCraftWeek (and #TheHundredDayChallenge).



How I made this card...

  • I have had this Bird die from Tattered Lace and was nervous about using it as I didn't know quite how to colour it in as I am not proficient at water colouring (so far).
  • Then I had a brainwave and coloured a piece of cream hammered card with various brown shades (using Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons (which I really love) - such as Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain.
  • I wasn't too careful where I added the crayon but made sure that I blended each area in before I moved on to the next...
  • Once I was happy with the shading (having thought about what colours I wanted the bird to be), I then used a medium paint brush and blended all of the colours in further with water. I used a heat gun to dry it but also let it dry naturally.
  • When it was dry, I used my die cutting machine (any medium to large one will do as the die will not go through your smaller ones to cut a couple out.
  • I then cut out the Cherish Every Sentiment (from Creative Crafting World's Paper Boutique collection) out using a gold self adhesive sheet.
  • To make the card up, I first of all used a sheet of bright green self adhesive paper (from DoCrafts) and added a panel to the bottom half of a white A6 card and burnished it down to make sure it was stuck down.
  • I then snipped one branch off the Bird die cut as it was slightly too big to allow the sentiment on the card too and glued it to the top left hand corner with a PVA glue.
  • I also added the sentiment to the bottom left hand corner again with a PVA glue.
  • Finally, I added some Golden Sunset Glitter Nuvo Drops to the top of the green panel

And there you are a bright and cheerful bird themed Just Because.. white A6 card which was made using die cuts, Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and Nuvo Drops.

  Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is one that would be great for Valentine's Day and makes use of both dies and stamps! I had cut the backing layer for another project but didn't use it so decided to use it with this one. It is a Rose Gold colour Mirror card and the die is from Stamps By Me (I think). I attached it to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using fingerlift tape as I didn't want to have any glue showing. Hummingbird shadow effect on C6 white card -  Day 267 of my 366 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's challenge (day 267) came about after I had cut out the "Songbird" die from the Couture collection and thought it would be really useful as a stencil using some inks. To make the topper:- I had cut out the "Songbird" die (from Couture by Create and Craft) out in white card and thought that it would make a really good stencil to use as a background. I took one of the Stamping card tags from Craftwork Cards (in the " Stamping Must haves ) collection and coloured over the die-cut in various places (also reversing it so the bird was looking the other way).I used a variety of green ink pads - Tm Holtz " Mowed Lawn " and Generation INX G01. Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle.
