Happy Christmas Penguin with sled topfold card - Day 339 of my 365 day challenge

Happy Christmas Penguin with sled topfold card -
Day 339 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a fun Christmas card which turned out really well (in my opinion) for day 339 of my 365 day challenge...

How I made this card:-

  • I used the latest Arch die (from Paper Boutique's Celestial Collection) to cut out the main shape using white stamping card.
  • I then used 3 Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads (Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Broken China) and coloured the whole of the Arch (I really like the embossing feature around the bottom square).
  • I then glued it to the front of a 7" x 5" white top fold card (from Stamps By Me) using Collall All Purpose glue as it gave me some wiggle time to get it in the right place.
  • I also splashed some water over the it and removed the excess with some kitchen roll so that it "bleached" parts of it and add some White Gel Pen to add some more stars.
  • I stamped out one of the Penguins, the sled and the rope from the Penguin Fun set from Creative Expressions (designed by Lisa Horton) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on white stamping card.
  • I used my Prism Alcohol markers to colour in the woolly hat and scarf using blue shades and orange for his nose and feet. I also used a grey one to add some shading.
  • I then cut them all out leaving a narrow white border around them.
  • I created the snowy ground by using a couple of the Finishing Touches - Stitched Hills and Clouds Die set from Creative Expressions (designed by Sue Wilson) and stuck two of them together.
  • I then stuck them to the bottom part of the Arch, using the embossed frame as a guide with a tape pen.
  • I attached the rope to the sled using a tape pen on the reverse, and then stuck it to the card, adding the Penguin later with foam pads.
  • I used some gold Peel Off stickers to create the parcels which I glued on to the sled using a tape pen
  • I cut out the Happy Christmas sentiment (from Sweet Dixie) in black shiny card and stuck it to the middle of the card.
  • Finally, I replaced the crescent Moon in the aperture using foam pads so it gave it some dimension and alternate Black and Strawberry Coulis Nuvo Drops around the edge of the card.

And there you are -  A really great card to make and one that is even better to give at Christmas!
