Christmas Robins Christmas cards - 2 cards for 1 - Day 323 of my 365 day challenge

Christmas Robins Christmas cards - 2 cards for 1 -
Day 323 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's challenge (day 323) is 2 for the "price" of one - Robins with 2 different sentiments that are quick and easy to make...

How I made these cards:-
  • Both cards have been made using the Christmas Robin mat and layer die set from Paper Boutique and I cut both of them out of 2 shades of brown card and then the breast part in red.
  • I added the bodies of the Robins first of all to the mat making sure that the feet etc were in the right place.
  • Once I was happy with them, I then added the red breasts using PVA glue.
  • I used a White Gel pen to add a dot in their eyes and also a bit to the front of the breast to give it some dimension.
  • I decided that I wanted them both to have a green and white theme, so cut the striped/spotty backgrounds (on the left), using a Tattered Lace die for the top layer and edged it with a dark green alcohol marker.
  • I then added that to some white card and then the whole thing to a panel of green and white spotty paper (from Hunkydory) and stuck it to the front of an A6 white linen effect card.
  • I stuck the Robin to the left hand side of the panel and then cut out the Merry Christmas sentiment from Paper Boutiques sentiment in silver and teal Mirri card and attached it to the right hand side with foam pads.
  • For the 2nd card, I used the same ideas except I used a pale green spotty paper, plain green paper and green and white checked paper.
  • I repeated the process with the Robin etc but this time cutting out a trio of holly leaves in white card, tinting it with a pale green and the sentiment From Our Home to Your Home from Tattered Lace in black card and stuck them to the right hand side.
  • Finally I added some Black Nuvo drops to the Holly Leaves to give the impression of the berries.

And there you are - A couple of Christmas cards which are fun and would be great to send to friends and family alike...
