Boo! Halloween card with witches hat and sentiment designed in Brother Scan n Cut...

Hi Craft addicts!

So today's Halloween themed card is one that I have made using some designs I created and cut out using my Brother Scan n Cut...


How I made the card...
  • I first of all went into CANVAS (the web app that Brother scan n Cut operates) and designed both the Boo. and Witches Hat toppers - (if you want to know how I did it just get in touch - I am also working out how to create these as files so I can add them to my website!
  • Once I was happy with them, I cut them out in both Black (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) and Orange (from American Crafts) - I had made the hat slightly smaller so I knew that there would be a small border) and glued them both together.
  • I then cut out the black rectangle using the largest of the Tattered Lace pin dot dies and the gold one (I think it is a Spellbinders die) in Mirri card.
  • I stuck them both together and glued them on to an A5 White linen effect scalloped card towards the top (leaving enough room for the sentiment)
  • Finally I stuck the BOO sentiment in the middle just underneath the main topper

And there you are - a fun card that can be used for Halloween (but not exclusively!).

  • Tape pen from Create and Craft
  • Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue
  • Collall All Purpose Glue

  Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one made totally from scratch. I used the largest circle (about 4") Petit Picot edge die from Spellbinders and cut out two pieces of card - the front is Paper Dienamic Metallink A4 card and the back part is Sheena Douglass A4 white willow card. I scored the back part about 3/4" towards the top and married the two pieces together and added some red liner tape, removed the carrier sheet and stuck them to each other. The black frame is cut out of Lynda Chapman's Black card using the Inverted Scallop die from Crafter's Companion Gemini collection and I stuck it to the front of the card using a dotty pen as it allows the glue to only go on places it needs to. I had a scrap piece of red cardstock and I cut the oval bauble (from Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Festive Collection Sparkle Baubles set) and then used silver mirror card to cut out the top part. Congrats... square card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Congratulations stamp and some patterned paper. I must admit i can't remember who produced this patterned paper but think it is Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World.. I rounded the corners of a 5" white square card and thought I would use it as a tent fold (that is with the fold at the top). I then cut out a piece of this foliage patterned paper so that there was a narrow border left when I placed it on the front of the card. Instead of adding a layer of black card behind it, I edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it on using a tape runner pen - so many companies now do them or you could used  a light layer of PVA glue. I then cut a narrow panel (about 2") of the same paper so that it fitted the card and then stuck it to a slightly wider panel of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and stuck that to the card slightly left of the card front. There's Gnome one quite like you 7x5 inch card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun one using a mix of dies and stamps.. I first of all stamped out the Forest Gnome stamp from Francoise Reads collection by Woodware Stamps (part of the Creative Expressions company) using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I coloured it in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Triblenders and cut each element out as I decided I wanted to use them separately to make up my design. I then cut out the Cracks and Pots dies from Carnation Crafts in white watercolour card and again coloured them in using a variety of the Triblenders until I was happy with the blending. I coloured a small panel of white stamping card (approximately 5" x 4") with Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for the sky and then a green ink from Simon Hurley - both from Ranger.
