Sending Hedgehugs...7x5in card 365 Day Challenge
Hi again
Well it is day 2 of my challenge - even though I haven't necessarily posted from the 1st January, I have actually made a card and here is the 2nd one!
I used some stamps and practised the masking technique to create the scene.
- I first of all cut out a piece of white stamping card approximately 5" x 4" for a 7" x 5" card (so many companies now produce excellent cardstock that you can use whichever is best for you), but of course you can decide how wide you want your borders to be!
- I had to decide what order I wanted the animals etc to be in the picture, and felt that the Hedgehog would be best as I wanted the sentiment to be the "Sending Hedgehugs" one.
- So, I then stamped all of the images on to some masking sheet and cut around them to just within the black outline.
- I then used Gina K Black Obsidian ink (it is a Hybrid one so you can use all types of inks, paints etc with it) to stamp the hedgehog out and then covered it with the mask.
- I stamped the fox out then and covered that and then the tree stump.
- I also stamped the leaves and branch out and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir Triblenders.
- Before removing the masks, I coloured the sky in using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks as I really like the opaque nature of his inks. The Grass is a mix of Crafter's Companion Green Water reactive and Simon Hurley's (with Ranger) Later Gater inks.
- I also stamped the sentiment out using the same Black ink (I realise now that I should have perhaps added it afterwards.
- I removed the masks and coloured them in using various brown shades of the Triblenders from Crafter's Companion.
- I also added some white gel pen to around the sentiment and to the tail of the fox etc.
- I attached the whole picture to some white card, trimming it so there was a really narrow border and then stuck that to some Blue cardstock (from Crafter's Companion).
- I used Fingerlift tape to stick the whole topper panel on to the front of a 7"x5" white card (tentfold so the fold is at the top).
- Finally, I added some blue metallic Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios.
So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:-
