Best friend Lighthouse stained glass DL card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's card is a really bright and cheerful one which I think helps make some sunshine appear in the gloom at the moment!
- I first of all cut out the Lighthouse die (from Crafter's Companion) in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World and then added some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet to the back).
- I then cut out the main mat layer in white card and attached the topper to it, making sure there is a narrow border all around it.
- I used Spectrum Noir's Triblend markers to colour in the scene - using Yellows, Reds, Blues, Greens and Browns - as they have 3 shades in each marker, shading is a lot easier.
- I cut out a piece of blue linen textured card (I think it is from Crafter's Companion) to fit the front of a DL card and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I then used some blue distress oxide ink to dampen the colour down.
- I stuck the panel on to the card using PVA glue (I use various ones depending on how I feel to be honest) and then added the main topper to the centre of it.
- I stamped out the sentiment "You're My Best Friend" out (I can't remember where it is from) using Gina K Obsidian Black ink , coloured it with some of the Blue Distress Oxide ink and then cut it out giving it a wavy edge.
- I stuck it to some black card and used foam pads to attach it to the card.
So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:-
