Merry Christmas - Owl in Silhouette card -  Day 355 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I thought I would make a slightly different (non festive) Christmas card for day 355 of my challenge - this time using an image I cut out using my Brother Scan n Cut on a hand coloured background. How I made this card:- I found this image of an owl (not sure where I found it) and imported it into my Brother Scan n Cut Canvas Workspace and resized it to the one I wanted (approx 3.5" x 3") and then moved it to my machine and cut it out in black card. I coloured a piece of white linen effect with Orange, Yellow and Red dye based/distress inks to create a sunrise/sunset background. I then trimmed it to 4.5" x 5" and glued it to a slightly larger black piece of card. I cut a strip of Orange and White spotty paper (approximately 1" wide and 7" wide) and glued it to a slightly wider piece of black card. I then glued it to the centre of a 7...

Fun Snowmen With Love at Christmas DL card - Day 354 of my 365 day challenge

Fun Snowmen With Love at Christmas DL card -  Day 354 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Another Snowman card for day 354 of my challenge - this time a fun DL card using stamps and alcohol markers! How I made this card :- I first of all stamped the snowman image out on to some white stamping card - the stamp is from Woodware. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink to do this as I was going to use alcohol markers. I then coloured them in using orange, yellow, blue, turquoise and grey - trying to tone them in to give some dimension. I then trimmed it to fit a panel of copper paper which would fit a DL white card and attached them both using PVA glue. I glued them both to the front of the card again using PVA glue, leaving a narrow border around it. I then stamped the pennant frame out using the Tuxedo Black ink and then stamped the With Love at Christmas sentiment in the centre of it.  I cut around the frame leaving a narrow border and attached it to ...

Snowman aperture Happy Christmas card - Day 353 of my 365 day challenge

Snowman aperture Happy Christmas card -  Day 353 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a fun one using stamps from the Raymond Briggs Snowman collection which Create & Craft have brought out. How I made this card :- I first of all stamped the front of a white circle aperture card using a selection of the stamps (Hare, Christmas Tree and Snowflake) from the Snowman collection that Create & Craft brought out recently. I coloured the Hare with a purple alcohol marker and the tree with a green one.  I also added some light green grass to the bottom of the card. Meanwhile, I coloured some white cardstock with some pink and yellow watercolour paints to create a sunrise and let it dry. I stamped the Snowman and his friend out on to white stamping card and coloured it in using alcohol markers (using Tuxedo Black Memento ink as it works with them). I placed the sunrise scene behind one of the flaps of an A6 Trifold card (making sure it wa...

Snowman Happy Christmas card - Day 352 of my 365 day challenge

Snowman Happy Christmas card -  Day 352 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well not much longer till Christmas time and this is a quick and easy card using an older Tattered Lace die along with some circle ones, some peel off stickers and a sentiment.... How I made this card:- I cut out the Tattered Lace Snowman die in white card. I then cut out 3 circles (with ornate edges) - one in Black, one in Kraft and the smallest one out of red and white spotty paper. I stuck them on top of each other using PVA glue and then attached them to the front of a 5" white card again using PVA glue. Using Midas Touch Sticky dots, I then stuck the Snowman on. I placed 3 Peel Off Sticker parcels on to some white card and coloured them in using alcohol markers - you can of course use any colours you like! I then attached them on top of each other to the left of the Snowman, this time using a tape pen. I cut out the Happy Christmas sentiment out in Gold Mirri card and stuck ...

Cute mouse on bauble Sending Love at Christmas card -  Day 351 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts Today's card (day 351 of my challenge) is one I have made using a form of paper piecing, die cuts and alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I cut out the cute Mouse  on a bauble 3 times -  once in White card, another in Gold Mirri and the last one in Green Mirri. I then snipped the Green die-cut so that I could glue the bauble parts (the top, middle and bottom) on to the gold one leaving parts of it showing. I then coloured in the mouse itself using Grey, Pink, Red, Green and blue alcohol markers (Prism pens this time) and cut it so that only the mouse was remaining - I then glued that to the gold topper using PVA glue. I stuck the whole topper on to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card (from Create & Craft's Core Collection) again using PVA glue. I had this sentiment  left over from Craftwork Cards  Year of Sentiments pad and adde...

Cute Critters, Parcel and Christmas pudding mini cards -  Day 350 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's makes for day 350 of my 365 day challenge are 3 mini (3in) cards that could be used as gift tags too... How I made these cards:- Card One (Pudding) - I cut out the Christmas Pudding die (Tonic Studios) from Kraft card and backed it on to some white so that I could colour in the Holly leaves using green alcohol markers.  I left the icing as it was. I then glued it to a 3" white card using PVA glue and stamped the Happy Christmas sentiment just underneath it using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Finally, I used some Strawberry Coulis Nuvo drops (again from Tonic Studios) to add the berries. Card Two (Cute Critters) - For this one, I created a sky background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean and Broken China) on to some white stamping card and cut a circle out using a Tattered Lace die. I then stamped the cute Critters image (from L...

Father Christmas & Rudolph on starry background card - Day 348 of my 365 day challenge

Father Christmas & Rudolph on starry background card -  Day 348 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Once again I have used a couple of stamps, some alcohol markers, watercolour paints to make this fun Christmas card for day 34 How I made this card:- I stamped the Father Christmas and Rudolph (from a Sweet Dixie stamp collection) on to some white stamping card using Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured both in using red, black, brown and black alcohol markers with a flesh colour one for his face and a grey for his beard and the fur. I had previously coloured the night scene using a mix of watercolour paints and then, when it was dry, I used a Lawn Fawn starry background die and cut the panel out. I also stamped a couple of Christmas trees on either side of the panel using the Tuxedo Black ink. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker and stuck it on to a slightly larger panel of blue paper and then added that on to the starry panel (which is the reverse ...

Make a Wish This Christmas (Robin on branch) card - Day 347 of my 365 day challenge

Image
Make a Wish This Christmas (Robin on branch) card -  Day 347 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! This is a really quick and easy card that I made last night - I have had various Pro marker alcohol pens for ages and wanted to see if they had dried out - but even though I bought them at least 6 or 7 years ago, most of them worked brilliantly! How I made this card:- I first of all stamped the Robin (Rockin Robin from Sweet Dixie) on to some white stamping card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I then used a selection of brown shades of Pro Marker pens to colour in the Robin - the way the stamp has been produced makes it easier to see where the shading should go. I then coloured in its' breast and berries in red, two shades of green for the holly and the brown again for the twigs and branches. Once I was happy with the shading, I then used some Cornflower blue Rare Earth Reaction ink (what was left on my dauber) to add some colour to the surrounding areas. I then...

Christmas Bells & Christmas Owls square cards -  Day 346 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Less than 2 weeks to go now until Christmas, I thought I would show how to make these two cards which are easy to make. How I made these cards:- Christmas Bells -  I first of all painted the orange background using Kuretake Gansai Tambi water colour paints and cut it out using a Tattered Lace square die once it was dry. I then cut the Christmas Bells (again a Tattered Lace die) out of black card. Before adding the background layer, I stamped the snowflake image in various places on a 6" white scalloped edge card using Tuxedo Black ink and again on the orange background using Versamark and Pure White embossing powder which I heat set. I attached the background layer on to the front of the card using PVA glue and then added the Christmas Bells with the same glue. The Happy Christmas sentiment is one from a Tonic Studios Stamp collection and I stamped it out ...
