Spooky! Black cat in silhouette Halloween card -  Day 304 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Happy Halloween! Today's card I have made another spooky one - this time using a Black Cat on a hand coloured background. How I made this card:- I first of all took an image of a cat in silhouette from the web on to my Brother Scan n Cut and used the image tracing function to bring it in to Canvas Work Space.  Once that was done, I resized it to one that I was happy with and cut it out of some black card (American Crafts I think as it has a slight texture to one side). I then masked off the centre part of an A6 white card (linen effect) with some purple masking tape, leaving roughly an inch on either side and coloured them with Orange and red Tim Holtz Distress inks. I also cut a circle using a plain die out of white card and coloured that in to match and glued it to the centre of the card (once I had taken away the tape of course!). I stamped the word "Spooky...

With Love... Thistle in silhouette A5 card -  Day 303 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for day 303 of my 365 day challenge is once again one using an old die from Tattered Lace (I also think they have done this for the Brother Scan n Cut), a hand coloured background and some stamping... How I made this card:- The background was made using Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Oranges, Yellows, Reds and some black for the top and bottom - you can of course use any other inks such as Prism, Gina K etc! Once I was happy with it, I edged it with a black alcohol marker to make it stand out. I then cut out the Thistle and leaf spray dies out in black card (the leaf spray twice). Using some Midas Touch Sticky Dots, I glued the thistle on to the centre of the panel - I did try it against various background colours but felt this was quite striking. I then used some PVA glue to attach it to the front of a creamy/ivory pre scored A5 Adorable Scorable card ...

Sent with Love - monochrome heart design card -  Day 302 of my 365 day challenge  Hi Craft addicts! I have been trying to use up some die-cuts that I had previously cut out and this one is a card using Tonic Studios dies. How I made this card:- I used one of the heart dies that Tonic Studios brought out ages ago, the main ornate frame in cream linen effect card and the ornate heart in black card. Tonic Studios also produced a duo set of a stamp and die and I first of all stamped the heart on white linen card and then die cut it. I then coloured it in using red and green alcohol markers. I glued the main frame on to some black card and trimmed around it leaving a narrow border. I attached the smaller hand coloured heart on to the black heart and glued both of them on to the main panel. I then stuck the whole thing on to a 6" white card using a wet glue. The sentiment was one from the Hunkydory Moonstone set Terrific Tags and Sentiments set on to a piece of ...

Dreamer... elephant constellation 7x5in card -  Day 301 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really love these latest Written in the Stars stamps from Hunkydory and I have used the elephant one to make this latest card for my challenge. How I made this card:- I took a piece of white stamping card and used 2 shades of Altenew Colour Sprays (metallic) and various Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist sprays to create a background. Once I was happy with it and it was dry, I added some True Graphite Altenew ink over it to make it a bit more subtle. I then used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the elephant constellation and the sentiment You May Say.... One from Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps Written in the Stars set. Using my Cutterpillar Crop, I then trimmed it to 13x8.5mm and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I then stuck it on to a pre-cut Silver Mirri panel (again from Hunkydory) using a wet glue as it gives some wiggle time. I also used a white gel pen t...

Girl on fairground horse in silhouette 6in square card -  Day 299 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts Today's card for day 299 of my 365 day challenge is another card using a Tattered Lace die on a hand coloured background..... How I made this card:- I coloured a piece of white stamping card using Dreamees Chalk Dinkie Inkies to create this landscape scene - I was really pleased with the way it turned out to be honest! I then cut it out using a large plain circle die from Tattered Lace. I then cut out the girl on a fairground horse in black card (again a Tattered Lace die) and stuck it to the painted background. I stamped the bottom of a cream linen effect 5in card with some reed stamps (from Stamps by Me) in Onyx Black Versafine ink and coloured them in using a pale green alcohol marker. I also added some silhouette seagulls to add a bit more interest to the card. Finally, I added the main panel on to the front of the card using thin foam pads. A nd the...

Treat me like a Queen of Hearts tag on 7x5in card -  Day 297 of my 365 day challenge  Hi Craft adddicts! I really love this set of Alice in Wonderland themed stamps from Visible Image and I am gradually working my way through them... this time it is the Queen of Hearts... How I made this card:- I first of all stamped all of the pieces in the Queen of Hearts set (from Visible Image) on to some white stamping card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I was going to use alcohol markers. I coloured the two main images in a variety of colours but didn't use the same colours in the playing card version. I also added some red alcohol markers around the edge of latter  I coloured the letters in the Queen sentiment again in red. I then cut all of the items out - leaving a white border around the words but tried not to have one around the main items. I had coloured a pre cut white label tag beforehand using purple and red Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints an...

Boo! Pumpkin in silhouette Halloween Card -  Day 297 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is a week till Halloween and so have made this fun DL card using Tattered Lace dies and some stamps from Bert n Gert. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the Pumpkin (from Tattered Lace) out in black card and using the same black card (well not the same piece obviously) cut out the Spider's Web and cut it in half. I decided to use a DL card but using it landscape tent fold instead of the normal portrait so I cut out a piece of white stamping card slightly smaller than the front of the card. I then used some masking tape to mask off the centre of the panel leaving about 1.5cm on the top and bottom and coloured it in using Orange, red and yellow Tim Holtz Distress Inks and blended them in until I was happy with it. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker. I also coloured in a square panel of white linen effect card again using the same Distress inks, ...

Wicked.... A6 white Halloween card -  Day 296 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have had these peel off stickers for some time and thought it was about time I used them so this is the result! How I made this card:- I took a precut panel of white hammered card and coloured a sky scene using Tim Holtz Distress ink (Salty Ocean). I then added various peel off stickers (from Craft Creations) to create a scene - I was still able to used the spider's web even though it broke as it looks like the spider is trying to fix it! When I was happy with the way it looked, I added some True Graphite Altenew inks beneath the cauldron etc and also added a light brush of it over the spider's web.  I used two sizes of bat stamps (think they are from Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps range and the larger one is from Bert and Gert's Halloween Range and stamped them randomly on either side of a white linen effect card using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used a rul...

Happy Holidays... children with sandcastle square card - Day 295 of my 365 day challenge

Happy Holidays... children with sandcastle square card -  Day 295 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is a bright and cheerful card celebrating summer holiday time - made with one die and some backing papers. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the mat and layer using 2 Tattered Lace Square nesting dies - the paper is from Hunkydory's Splendid Spots paper pad - you need 2 pieces as the 2 dies don't quite fit (the paper is double sided so you need to reverse one of them to get the stitched effect on both). I then used a tape pen to attach the smaller layer to the larger one (I had used glue on one before but the glue showed through).  Using white card, I then cut out the sandcastle die (again from Tattered Lace) and coloured it in using Chameleon pencils. I decided to use them rather than paints as it was easier for me to use them. I attached it to the front of the 6" white pearlescent card using PVA glue....
