Happy birthday Chinese Lanterns hand coloured stamps C6 card for Day 147 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I hope you are all having a great Bank Holiday (if it is where you are!) - I have made this bright and cheerful Birthday card for day 147 of my 365 day challenge!


How I made this card:-

  • I used a C6 white linen effect card and marked two lines at the top and bottom of it in pencil and then used some masking tape to protect the centre of the card and coloured the border using Cosmic Shimmer Clear Day and Indigo Mist Colour blending inks. They do lay really well but must admit they don't blend well with each other as they are too wet (but I might be doing it wrong of course!)
  • I put that aside to dry and cut a strip of white stamping card which was slightly narrower than the centre part of the card and shorter than the length!
  • I stamped the string using Tuxedo Black Memento ink at the top of the panel and then the various Chinese Lanterns from the Lovely Lanterns set from For The Love of Stamps) using the same ink, trying to make them equi-distant.  I then added some string using a black Fineliner pen.
  • I coloured the lanterns in using various Chameleon pencils - pink, orange, yellow, blue, red and green trying to give them some shading!
  • Once I was happy with them, I used the remaining blending ink that was on one of the sponges to colour around them.
  • I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment (from a sentiment collection from For The Love of Stamps again) in the bottom right hand corner using Clear Glass ink from Rare Earth, added some Seafoam White embossing powder and heat set it.
  • I then added some darker lines using a black alcohol marker to accentuate the borders and added the panel using foam tape.


And there you are a bright and cheerful fun card that are easy to make and would be great to give!

Celebrate! Vintage gent's tashes on C6 white card -  Day 158 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Been playing with some designs on my Brother Scan n Cut and also using up some background papers from Craftwork Cards and this cheerful card is the result! How I made this card:- I took the vintage Moustache design from my Brother Scan n Cut and cut it out 3 times in black card. I then cut a panel of the Bowler hat, pipe and moustache backing paper (approx 65x152mm) from one of the paper pads from Craftwork Cards and stuck it on to a large panel of black card and glued it to the centre of a C6 white linen effect card. There are so many variations on what a C6 card actually measures - each Company seems to have their own ideas :) - anyway, I trimmed the top and bottom to fit the card. I then stuck the two moustaches directly on to the panel using a tape pen and added the middle one to it using foam pads. I stamped the CELEBRATE sentiment out on to some black card

Christmas 2021 - Brrr.... 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts! Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a Christmas card themed one using dies, stamps and alcohol markers. I rounded the corners of an A6 Kraft card (from Tonic Studios) using my Hunkydory punch. I then took a piece of white card, cut it to fit the front of the card and also rounded the corners of that too and attached it using a solid Tape pen (either Create & Craft or Crafter's Companion). I cut out the oval frame using Spellbinders Oval Petit Picot edged die in both the brown Metallink card (from Paper Dienamics) without the centre die and then again in white card, this time adding it so that I could use it to stamp on. I stamped the Snowman image (part of Crafter's Companion Wobblers collection) using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and coloured it in using alcohol markers. Do small things with great love... vibrant flowers 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Hiya Craft addicts! Today's card is one using just paper from Stamps by Me and a sentiment from Lisa Horton - so if you want to know how to make something like this then why not read more! I really love the colours in this paper pad from Toni Darroch's Its All about You - Vibrant Colours 8" pad. I wanted the poppies to stand out and so used one of the paler designs (with the script on it) and cut it to 4.75" x 5.5" (approximately) and attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card. I then cut a smaller piece of the Poppy design about 2.75" x 5"and stuck it to some more black card. I used PVA glue (or you can used fingerlift tape) to attach the larger panel to the front of a 7" x 5" white card and then added the smaller topper to it towards the bottom right hand corner, this time with thin foam tape to give it some height.
