A Little note to say... Owl embossed on black 7x5in card -  Day 59 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! A Little Note to say Owl themed card is today's project for my 365 day challenge - can't believe it is nearly 60 days already - where has this year gone? How I made this card:- I really like this owl stamp (from Ornate Owls from Hobby Art Stamps and I wanted to see how it looked embossed in white so stamped it on a circle of black card (95mm) with Versamagic and heat embossed it using Opaque Bright White powder from WOW.  The circle had been cut out using a Tattered Lace die using my Cut n Boss. I then added some leaves from the same set around the edge of the circle and embossed them too (I really want the Gina K wreath building stamp set as it looks so easy to use but you can make some really great effects with it). I coloured the leaves with a green Zig Clean Color pen and then his eyes with a fluorescent yellow alcohol marker. Using 2 different s...

Happy birthday - underwater diver scene on 6in square card -  Day 58 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Such a strange now - snowing, sunshine and clouds - so have made this card to cheer me up! Once again I have used some of the brilliant stamps from For The Love of Stamps by Hunkdyor and some of Tattered Angels Colour Wash Paints... How I made this card:- I took a 6" x 6" piece of stamping card and trimmed it down so that it fitted on a 6" scalloped edged card. I wanted to try out some of the Tattered Angels Colour Wash Paints I had, so coloured it with their blues and blacks using a flat brush trying to merge the colours in to make the bottom darker than the top. I used a heat tool to dry it a bit and then left it to dry for about 20 minutes (trying to keep it flat at the same time). Once it was fully dry, I then created the underwater scene but stamping the shipwreck on the bottom right hand corner and the sea plants on the right - 2nd genera...

Friends like you... flowers, mice and rabbit C6 card -  Day 57 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well what a funny day it is today - snow showers, sunshine and clouds and very cold! So this card (day 57 of my 365 day challenge), is a bright and cheerful one i think.... How I made this card:- I used a pre-cut C6 white panel (from Rare Earth or Craftwork Cards) - trimming it slightly to fit a C6 white straight edged card. I stamped the bluebell flower stamp (from the Friends Like You set from For The Love of Stamps) using Onyx Black Versafine ink pad and heat embossed it using a heat tool. I used a water brush and added some water to the flowers a couple at a time and coloured them in using Violet Zig Clean Color pens trying to give them all some shadow towards the top of the flowers - and carried on doing the rest of them - I then used a couple of shades of green to colour in the leaves and stems.  I also added one of the butterflies and coloured it in...

Hoppy Easter rabbits and eggs in basket DL card - Day 56 of my 365 day challenge

Hoppy Easter rabbits and eggs in basket DL card -  Day 56 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is really cold but sunny out so thought I would make this fun Easter card once again using For The Love of Stamps from Hunkydory and alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I first of all coloured the front of the card directly as I wanted to show its' linen effect. I used blue pigment inks - this time using Tim Holtz Ranger Distress inks for the sky (using a dauber instead of a sponge) and Altenew's green Parrot and Moss pigment inks for the grass. I put that aside to dry and cut out several of Tattered Lace Forest Pines Rose Hip Spry die in different shades of purple and green (I used Tattered Lace's Shades pads for this as they have a variety of colours in one place. I stuck them on to the left hand side of the using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and trimmed them so they didn't hang over the edge of the card. I then stamped out the 2 different type...

Thank you card with flowers and grasses in silhouette C6 card -  Day 55 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is the weekend again and I thought I would show you a card I made for one of the very kind people who have donated to my sponsored slim (which I am doing for MacMillan Nurses -  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/felicity-fuller ) - anyway, I was really pleased with the way that this one turned out.. How I made this card:- I wanted this card to have a sunrise background rather than a sunset one, so used reds, pinks, oranges and yellow dye based inks (Altenew and Tim Holtz Ranger) - gradually blending them in so that it looked "realistic" on a pre-cut C6 white stamping card (this one is from Rare Earth). I then stamped the grasses and flowers image (from Stamps by Me) on to it using Versafine Onyx Black in and added some clear embossing powder and set it using my heat tool. I trimmed it about 1/4" on each side and then edged it in ...

Have a Fun Day flower on a bright background C6 black card - Day 54 of my 365 day challenge

Have a Fun Day flower on a bright background C6 black card -  Day 54 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a result of testing some alcohol markers on an embossed background - really like the effect it creates (even if the topper itself is upside down). How I made this card:- I took a panel (pre-cut) of stamping card and put it through my Cut n Boss using a hearts embossing folder from DoCrafts (XCut). I trimmed it a bit as I wanted it to fit the black card from Papercharm. I then used a variety of alcohol markers - rainbow colours using each several times - I wasn't worried to much if they blended - in fact I wanted them to! You have to let it dry from several hours otherwise it will smear and you can lose the effect you want... Whilst drying, I used a Tattered Lace Flower die and cut it out in white cardstock - I was going to use black but think the white stands out more. I then stuck it to the panel using some glue dots and some PVA Glu...

Happy Birthday Sunflower and butterfly square card - Day 53 of my 365 day challenge

Happy Birthday Sunflower and butterfly square card -  Day 53 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really not comfortable making "large" cards but thought I would give it ago for today's challenge - this time using a Sunflower stamp from Stamps Away and some Fleur's Flower Forming foam to make the butterfly. How I made this card:- I took a flower shaped card (from Hunkydory) and cut it in two as I thought it would make a good layer for the card I wanted to make. I then stamped the sunflower on to it and heat embossed it with my heat tool (using Versafine Onyx Black ink and a clear embossing powder) I coloured the sunflower in using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (mainly CR1, GB6 and DR4) trying to blend them to make the inner part of the flower darker. I also used a brown alcohol marker (EB6) for the inside and added some black dots as well. I edged the flower layer with the CR1 and then a narrower edge of a black alcohol marker as I wanted ...

Hope you have a blast - space and aliens 6in shaped card - Day 52 of my 365 day challenge

Hope you have a blast - space and aliens 6in shaped card -  Day 52 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I had coloured in the blue topper and it reminded me of a space scene so thought I would use it to make this fun card that could be suitable for anyone interested in aliens! How I made this card:- As I mentioned above, I made the circle topper by cutting a piece of stamping card using a Tattered Lace die and then a slightly larger one in black card. I then used some Altenew inks (mainly blues and blacks) to colour the smaller one - flicking some water on it and then dabbing the excess off to make it look a bit space like (I also thought about using it for underwater). I then stuck it to the black layer and used a white Gel pen to create the faux stitching. Meanwhile, I used a blue alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir BT7 old style) to create the borders on a 6" (approx) scalloped edged card. I then took the mask from the Out of this World set (from the For the ...
