Bee Kind - Bees, Honeycomb and flowers silhouette square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one using some dies, stamps and some inks! I coloured a piece of white card using yellow, orange, red and pink Distress Oxide and Harmony inks (from Tim Holtz and Crafter's Companion) to make a sunrise (esque) background and cut it out using Spellbinder's Petite Picot edge square die. I then added some self adhesive paper to the back of a piece of Lynda Chapman's Black card and used the Bumbling in the Flowers Die from Crafter's Companion Nature's Garden Bee-youtiful collection to cut it out. Removing the backing sheet carefully, and taking out any waste bits left, I then stuck that to the frame I had made earlier. I used a dotty tape pen to attach the whole thing to the front of a 5" white card leaving a narrow border all around it. I then stamped out the Bee Kind sentiment on to some white card, coloured it a bit with the residue inks left on my blender brushes and attached it to the bottom right hand cor...

Hello - You're Bee-utiful Bees and Flowers card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Bee themed square card using the Bee-youtiful collection in the Nature's Garden set from Crafter's Companion. I used the Bees and Flowers Mini embossing folder from the collection and cut a strip of card that I had previously created a background on and embossed it. I then used some Obsidian Black ink from Gina K and brushed the ink pad over the embossed area a couple of times so that the embossed area is highlighted. I trimmed it to approximately 4.5" and 1.5" wide and stuck it with a tape pen to a strip of Lynda Chapman's black cardstock and trimmed that so that it fitted the left hand side of a 5" white card. I used the Bee stamp and stamped it on to the card (1st and 2nd Generation) to create a background. I then cut out the flower using the die from the Bee Blooms pack, to stamp it, I stuck the waste card with the outline in it onto my stamping platform (making su...

Believe... Red flower and foliage 5in square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one that I am really pleased with as my blending seemed to be work quite well (Though it is darker in real life)!  I took a 5" white card and rounded the corners with my Prism (Hunkydory) punch. I then cut a scalloped circle using a Lisa Horton die out from Lynda Chapman's Black Card from Creative Crafting World. I also cut out a slightly smaller one in white card and then used the Mini Tiles Woodware Stencil (designed by Francoise Read for Creative Expressions) and added some pink, yellow and orange inks through it and left it to dry. I stuck the smaller circle on to the black one using a tape pen and stuck it to the front of the 5" white card using the same tape pen. For the main toppers, I first of all die cut both the flower and foliage outlines in white card and then put them back into the waste after having put it on a stamping platform so I knew exactly where to stamp. I then plac...

Happy Birthday to you... Lighthouse stained glass effect 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade cards is a 7" x 5" card using dies and stamps and is suitable for a Birthday. I decided to use the Black 7" x 5" pearlescent card as a landscape card and thought that the Lighthouse Stained Glass effect die cut would be perfect for it. I therefore cut out the mat layer using a piece of cardstock that I had used Himi Silk Crayons to create the background. I then added some Wild Spider Self Adhesive paper to a piece of Lynda Chapman's Black card, cut out the Lighthouse Outline die from Crafter's Companion. I removed part of the backing sheet from the die cut, placed it over the mat layer so that it looked symmetrical and gradually removed the rest, burnishing it down with the release paper. I then stuck it to the card using PVA glue. I stamped out the Happy Birthday to you sentiment (again from Crafter's Companion I think) on to some white card, fussy cut around it and attached it to the bottom of the card with ...

Just for You shaped handmade card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!     Today's latest handmade card is one I have made using a topper that I had previously made into a card but accidently stained the back of it and I didn't want to waste it. I used the largest Tag shaped die from a collection by Tattered Lace (I think) and cut out two pieces of white card. I scored one of them just below the pediment with my Hunkydory Adorable Scoreboard, added some red liner tape and attached it to the second piece, making sure they matched up. I cut out a piece of Lynda Chapman's Black card and embossed it with the brick 3D embossing folder from Lisa Horton. I had coloured some watercolour card and used the Himi Silky Crayons to create a background and then cut out the Shabby flowers again from Lisa Horton. I glued two lots of the flowers (different sizes) using PVA glue and added a black dot (from another project to the centre of it. I also cut out a frame using the largest two dies from the Inverted Scalloped rectangle die set fro...

Always Bee Yourself.... handmade Bee circle card - 365 Day Challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's card for my 365 Day challenge is one that I have made from scratch using Dies and Stamps and a couple of crayons! I first of all cut out two pieces of white cardstock (approx 300gsm) using the scalloped edged circle die from Lisa Horton (but lots of other Companies produce them). I then scored one of them towards the top of the circle (about 3/4") and added some red liner tape to it, removed the backing and stuck the two pieces of card together making sure the edges matched. I decided that rather creating the image on a topper that I could attach to it, I would do it directly on to the front of the card (this meant I couldn't use alcohol markers as they would have bled through to the back). I needed to create the scene so decided to use a stamping platform - I used a load n fold one for this but you could use any that are on the market. I first of all added the two parts of the wreath (from the Bee-Yuotiful Collection from Crafter's ...

Beautiful... Floral spray on oval background 7" x 5" card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one I really enjoyed making using stamps, dies, alcohol markers and pencils ( and yes it is a white card).... I have also added a couple of pictures showing the difference between just alcohol markers and adding the pencils. I first of all cut out a piece of white stamping card using the largest of theSpellbinders Petit Picot edge oval die set. I then stamped out the Floral Spray stamp image on to it using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and left it to dry a bit. I coloured it in first of all using pastel shades from the Sketching set of Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens and this is the result. As you can see, it is very pale and I could have left it like that but felt that I wanted to see how different it would be if I used Stabilo FSC pencils on top and so coloured half in and again this is how it turned out (and you can definitely see how vibrant they became).. So I then coloured the rest in (see the main...
