Rose and pocket watch Life is better... laughing 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card is one using Stamps by Me products for my 365 day challenge. I had cut out a circle in a piece of card for another project and decided to use it as  a mask to colour another piece of white card using some "grungy" colour ink pads (Mainly Tim Holtz) I then stamped the Rose and pocket watch image (from a Stamps by Me collection) on top of the the ink using Gina K Black Obsidiain ink. I used Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer Crystal Tints (Orange and yellow) as paints to colour the stamped image.  I trimmed a piece of the wood effect Stamps by Me paper pad I had to fit the front of a 7x5" white card (leaving a narrow border all around). Using the same Crystal Tints I coloured the card that had the circle aperture in it until I was happy with the result. I stuck it to the stamped it image using PVA glue and then attached that to some black card which I then trimmed to fit the card. Once I had glued the whole topper panel o...

Lily in outline Good Luck A6 cream card - 365 day challenge 2021

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I hope you like this card as I was quite pleased with how it turned out! I first of all used the Good Luck edger die from the Gemini range from Crafter's Companion and cut it out directly on the bottom of an A6 cream card - I left it hanging over the edge so there was a little gap on the left hand side. I used their Lily outline die (I really love this type of die as you can do so much with them) and cut it out using Lynda Chapman's black card which I had backed with self adhesive paper. I removed the backing sheet and attached it to a piece of watercolour card that I had previously coloured in using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. I had also cut a second one out and I decided to use the frame and stuck it towards the top of the card using it as a square design. I turned the Lily topper so it formed a diamond and stuck it to the card using foam pads to give it some dimension. Finally, I added some black Nuvo drops in each corner. So if you think this sounds int...

Zebra with flowers Friendship DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!   Today's card is one using the pre die cut toppers from a collection by Creative Crafting World - I hope you like it! I removed the two toppers from the Safari Buddies collection from Paper Boutique (Creative Crafting World) that I thought would go on a DL card. I also took the matching paper from the same set  I then cut out a piece of Grey Textured paper (from Crafter's Companion) to fit the front of a DL card and rounded the edges with a corner punch from Hunkydory's Prism range I used that as a template to cut the patterned paper to fit using my guillotine - I am going to try and use my Scan n Cut more to do this type of thing I think! I stuck both of them to the front of the DL card using a tape pen. I used a Tattered Lace scalloped edge die to cut 2 circles slightly bigger than the die cuts from the same Grey paper and attached the toppers on to them using PVA glue. I then used thin foam pads to stick them to the card. So if you think this sounds in...

Couple in rain Splash of Colour 5in Z fold card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one that could easily be used for Valentine's Day or really just to cheer someone up! I first of all took a 5in white card and scored it down the middle of the front piece and folded it back on itself and scored it again to give it a good crease. I then cut out 3 panels of grey textured card (from Crafter's Companion 12" paper pad) allowing a very narrow border. I stuck them to the card using PVA glue (this time Dawn Bibby's glue). I then cut out the Couple under an umbrella in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) having first attached it to some Wild Spider Self Adhesive sheet. I removed the backing sheet and placed the die-cut on the front panel, trimming the umbrella as it was slightly too big. I then used an anti-static bag and dusted the inside panel, then stamped the sentiment (from Honey Doo Mandala collection), added some True white embossing powder and heat set it. Finally, I cut out the small hear...

Happy Birthday Birds and flowers A5 shaped card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I really loved making this card - something different from me as I am determined to use up what is in my Crafty Stash! I love these papers from Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me and these are part of the It's All About You - Vibrant tones set (8" pad) and so used the yellow poppies and the faded bird options in it. I first of all cut half of the the front of an A5 white card off as I wanted the recipient to see both the faded paper and the sentiment straight away. I trimmed the bird paper to fit the inside of the card and then rounded the corners using a Hunkydory Prism punch and stuck it inside the card. I then used the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp and stamped it directly on to the Bird paper using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I trimmed a piece of the Yellow Poppy paper (approximately 2" x 6") and attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card and then used some PVA glue to stick it to the remaining part of the front of the card (I had rounded ...

Big Hugs - cute elephants DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Well here is another card that I have made that could be great for Valentine's Day which isn't too far away! I used the largest slimline die from Lisa Horton and used it to cut out some red textured card from Crafter's Companion. I also cut out the film strip using Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me die in black card (Lynda Chapman's Black card) and then added some Wild Spider Self adhesive sheet to the reverse. I decided to use the two twirling elephants from Crafter's Companion Gemini set and stamped them on to some white stamping card (having made sure that they fitted into the gaps in the film strip first).  I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to stamp them out and then coloured them in using a Grey Spectrum Noir Triblender. Once I was happy with the result I added the Big Hugs sentiment from the same set to the middle space and stuck the film strip over them all. I trimmed the edges of the white card so you couldn't see any of it. I glued the red...

Just fur you... geometric dog A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I hope all is well with you! Here is another card for my 365 day challenge -  I hope you like it! I placed some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet on the reverse of Lynda Chapman's Black card and cut out the Geometric Dog out of it. I then attached it to some white card after removing the backing sheet. I burnished it with a bone folder to make sure it was firmly attached to it. Once I had done that, I took one of Tattered Lace Torn Edge rectangle dies and cut around the white card leaving a narrow border around the dog. I coloured the dog in using 3 shades of brown colouring pencils from Stabilo - they really are great to colour in and they do blend a bit too! Once I was happy with the result, I then coloured around the dog using some Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. The blue card/paper is from Crafter's Companion Textured 12x12" pad and I stuck the white card to it and cut around it trying to replicat...

Special person deserves a special day floral spray 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! I am really pleased that I have been able to keep up with my personal 365 day challenge! Here is my latest card.. hope you like it! I used various pastel pearlescent alcohol inks to create the background - I used Yupo card or paper for the substrate as it is ideal for these types of inks. Even though it dries almost immediately, I put it aside for the time being and cut out the floral spray (from Stamps By Me) in black card (Lynda Chapman's is great) which I had attached to some Wild Spider Self adhesive sheet. I removed the backing sheet and placed it over the background and burnished it to stick it down. I then stamped out the sentiment using Gina K Obsidian Black ink on to white stamping card, cut around it giving a wavy edge and then glued it to some black card and gave that a wavy edge too. I stuck the whole topper to the front of a 7" x 5" white card using PVA glue and then added the sentiment with foam pads. Finally, I used a few drops of Black ...

Best friend Lighthouse stained glass DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a really bright and cheerful one which I think helps make some sunshine appear in the gloom at the moment! I first of all cut out the Lighthouse die (from Crafter's Companion) in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World and then added some Wild Spider self adhesive sheet to the back). I then cut out the main mat layer in white card and attached the topper to it, making sure there is a narrow border all around it. I used Spectrum Noir's Triblend markers to colour in the scene - using Yellows, Reds, Blues, Greens and Browns - as they have 3 shades in each marker, shading is a lot easier. I cut out a piece of blue linen textured card (I think it is from Crafter's Companion) to fit the front of a DL card and edged it with a black alcohol marker. I then used some blue distress oxide ink to dampen the colour down. I stuck the panel on to the card using PVA glue (I use various ones depending on how I feel to be honest) and ...
