Thanks for everything... swans and cygnets on hand coloured background 5x7in cream card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I made using Tattered Lace dies, some stamps and watercolour paints. How I made this card:- I took a piece of white stamping card (you could also use watercolour card) and painted it using various shades of blue watercolour paints with the lighter blues towards the top half. I tried to blend them in so you can see the difference between the sky and the water. I then used some darker paint (black or dark purple) to create the skyline in the middle of it. Once it was all dry, I then used a white gel pen to create the waves under the land and some to the sky to give the impression of whispy clouds. I then took some white Brilliance ink from the pad, smooshed it on a glass mat, added some water to it and then used a paintbrush to splash some on to the top part of the panel to create stars! Whilst it was drying again, I cut out the Swan and Cy...

Something beautiful...horizon landscape at sunset 7x5in card

Something beautiful...horizon landscape at sunset 7x5in card Hi Craft addicts! I was really pleased with how this card turned out and it was fairly simply to do too using just stamps and some inks. How I made this card:- I created the sunrise/sunset background paper using Orange, Yellow and Red dye based and Distress Inks (from Tim Holtz, Prism or Rare Earth). I tried to blend them in so that it looked as if the sunrise or sunset was just happening. I used white stamping card for this part which measured 3" x 4.5" Once I was happy with it, I edged it with a black alcohol marker so I didn't have to add another layer to the card. I then stamped the trees stamp (from Rare Earth) on to the bottom half of the background using Gina K Jet Black ink (as it takes both watercolour and solvent based products). To colour the trees in, I used a couple of green alcohol markers ( you could also use water colour paints too).  I found the flock of birds stamp in another...

Happy Birthday Butterfly silhouette on floral background 6in card

Happy Birthday Butterfly silhouette on floral background 6in card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I made some time ago using a couple of dies , some hand coloured paper and a sentiment stamp... How I made this card:- I had created the background paper using Gansai Tambi Metallic Watercolour paints and once it was dry I cut it out using a circle die (approx 2").  I then used another slightly large circle die from Tonic Studio's Oceana Layering Die set and cut it out in Black card. I then used the fancy circle die from the same set and cut out a larger frame using a backing paper from Creative Crafting World. Using the Butterfly Animal silhouette die from Crafter's Companion, I cut it out in black card and stuck it on to the coloured circle using PVA glue. I then attached that to the Black circle die again with PVA glue. I attached the whole panel on to the fancy circle with the same PVA glue. I used PVA glue also to stick it to the front of a ...

New Baby silhouette of Tigger on hand coloured background card

Image
New Baby silhouette of Tigger on hand coloured background card Hi Craft addicts! I made this card to give to someone who had just had a baby and what can be better than excitable Tigger on a hand coloured background with stamps from Bert n Gert and dies from Tattered Lace. How I made this card:- To make the background, I first of all cut out the Tree in silhouette die (from Tattered Lace) in black card. I then used some white stamping card (or you could use watercolour card if you want a more textured effect) and painted it with orange, yellow, pink and red paints, blending them in to create a sunset. Once it was dry, I placed the tree silhouette over it, stuck it on using PVA glue and trimmed it to fit (I also edged it with black so you couldn't see any white card). I then die cut out the Tigger figure out in an orange card, and then placed it on some black so you can see the stripes through it.  I also used some alcohol markers to create shading on him. Before...

Beautifully Wicked - Witches inspired from Wizard of Oz characters DL card

Beautifully Wicked - Witches inspired from Wizard of Oz characters DL card Hi Craft Addicts! I had great fun using these stamps from Visible Image - I think I am going to try it with a darker background too soon as I think it could work with both. How I made this card:- To make the background, I measured a piece of white stamping card (I used Hunkydory's Ink Me 8" paper pad) so that it fitted the front of a DL card with a narrow border all around (approx 2.5" x 5.5") and painted it with Dreamees Dinkie Inkies Sparkle watercolour inks - especially  Phlox, Rosey (I know it isn't the right spelling but that is what it says) Cheeks and Sunset blending them all in so that the darker colours were at the top and the brighter ones at the bottom. To create the cloud effect, I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks - Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple. I heat dried it on the back and front, smoothing it down when it curled over.  I then stamped the smaller, ...

You Make me smile...birds and flowers 7x5in black pearlescent card

You Make me smile...birds and flowers 7x5in black pearlescent card Hi Craft addicts! Well the internet is actually behaving itself (fingers crossed) so can post this today! I used Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (of course) to make the background and had fun using it to create this card - so if you want to find out how I made it, read on.... How I made this card:- To make the background, I used a 7" x 5" piece of transparent Yupo Paper from Tim Holtz and Ranger (it is synthetic paper but is recyclable - you can't tear it however and does need to be cut). I first of all used Spun Sugar Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to create some "squiggles" and blended them in using my finger. I then added some Picked Raspberry to give the flowers some detail and dimension. I did use a fine paintbrush to blend them all a bit more. I then added some Mustard Seed Distress crayon in between them, blending them in again and then created some stalks with Twisted Citron. I t...

Happy Birthday Fairy and flowers 7x5in landscape card

Happy Birthday Fairy and flowers 7x5in landscape card Hi Craft addicts! Am back in the world of the internet after a few days and thought I would make this Fairy themed Birthday card and here is how I made it using some Hunkydory and Rare Earth products.... How I made this card:- The background is one I created using one sheet from Hunkydory's Prism Colouring Pad Vol.2 - I coloured it in using purples and yellow Tim Holtz Distress and Rare Earth inks - I placed some on a glass mat directly and used a paintbrush to blend the colours in. Whilst it was drying, I used some medium width ultra strong red liner tape to add a border to the right hand side of a cream/ivory 7x5in card (landscape/tentfold) - I had previously placed the topper on to the card to make sure it will fit. I removed the liner and added some black foil to it and burnished it until there was no glue exposed.  I then stamped the Fairy image (from Rare Earth's Fantasy Stamp range) on to some ...

Wishing you Sunshine & Smiles flowers, butterflies and bees 7x5" card

Wishing you Sunshine & Smiles flowers, butterflies and bees  7x5" card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is one I really liked making and used mainly one For The Love of Stamps collection (Spring Blooms Edge it)  to do so... So if you would like to find out how I made it then carry on reading 😃 How I made this card:- I had cut up a Kraft card as it hadn't gone quite right and rather than throwing it away, I decided to use it to stamp on... I dusted the card with an anti-static pad and then used one of the floral sprays from the Spring Blooms Edge it stamp collection from For The Love of Stamps to stamp on it with Versamark (which is a sticky ink) and covered it with a True White Embossing powder, removing the excess before heat setting it with a heat gun. I then decided to colour it in using pencils, this time using some Rembrandt Polycolor Lyra ones (I have been sorting out some boxes and found them so thought I better use them!). The colours I used w...

With Love Abstract flower in pink, black and white on hand coloured flowery background square card

With Love Abstract flower in pink, black and white on hand coloured flowery background square card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a result of using a background I have created myself using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons along with dies from Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me. How I made this card:- I had been playing with some Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to make the flowery background (it measures approx 5" square as the card itself is a 6" one - to do it, I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, experimenting with the "strokes"  I used - it took a bit of time to get the effect right - I used normal stamping paper this time rather than Yupo as it gives a totally different effect. I also used a paintbrush and some water to blend them in even more. Once I was happy with what I had done, I then added some green alcohol marker to create the stalks and some faded blue and yellow spots dotted around the pattern. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker. ...
