Fairy door wall decoration with chalkboard notice board Stage 2 Hi Craft Addicts! If you have read yesterday's post about how I made the fairy door , I am now going to go through how I made the rest of the notice board wall hanging. I again painted the large notice board (it is 28cm x 19cm) with the black Pebeo Gesso acrylic paint on both sides allowing it to dry in between the 2 coats.  Once dry, I decided where I wanted the fairy door to go and marked where the top would go and then stuck the chalkboard paper (blackboard) which is from the 12" x 12" pad from ColourBox. near to the top right hand corner leaving room round it to add the faux stitching using the white Graph-it Shake marker . I then glued the Fairy door to the panel using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue as it really does the job of sticking it securely!  I also stuck the 2 toadstools  which I had previously decorated to the right hand side of it allowing the larger one to hang o...

Fairy door wall hanging with chalkboard notice section

Fairy door wall hanging with chalk board notice section Hi Craft Addicts! This is a "story" of two halves - first of all the fairy door and then how I used it to make a chalkboard notice board wall hanging. So I will do this in two sections (the fairy door today and will post the noticeboard tomorrow).. I used the Dreamees Fairy Door making kit which you can buy from their website here .(this makes 2 so is excellent value for money) - you get all the necessary bits including signposts, trees, toadstools etc. Using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (I find they cover the MDF really well) in three different shades of brown, I "painted" the larger of the doors in the darker brown on both sides a couple of times and then the smaller of the doors and the "struts) in the lighter shades of brown.  I also added some silver dots to the struts to make them look like nails and used some purple Nuvo Crystal drops as a door handle but of co...

Chocolate - the 12 step guide wall hanging... Hi Craft Addicts! You may have seen my last blog about making a stylish wall hanging using a topper from Hunkydory   and a plaque style MDF shape from Dreamees and so here is another one I have made - this time featuring that other favourite, chocolate ... The process is exactly the same as before but this time using it landscape instead of portrait. I painted the panel (which is  22cm x 10cm ) using the  Pebeo Black Gesso  acrylic paint (I had to do it a couple of times using some  Cut n Dry foam  - this, I have discovered is  SO  much better than using a brush as it does give a smoother coat. Whilst it dried on both sides, cut a  gold foiled border  (with diamond panels) into the right length for both sides - this is from another of Hunkydory's card packs.  I then glued them to the panel just to the right (or left) of the holes either side. I then ad...

Wine is the answer wall hanging

Wine is the answer MDF wall hanging  Hi Craft Addicts! I was looking through some of the toppers that I have from Hunkydory and was wondering what I could do with some of the larger ones and I came across one that I really liked and then had a "lightbulb" moment and thought it would look really good as a wall decoration and as I had some MDF panels, I thought they would be great together... So, I first of all I painted the panel (which is 22cm x 10cm ) using the Pebeo Black Gesso acrylic paint (I had to do it a couple of times using some Cut n Dry foam - this, I have discovered is SO much better than using a brush as it does give a smoother coat. Whilst it dried on both sides, cut a gold foiled border (with diamond panels) into the right length for both the top and the bottom - this is from another of Hunkydory's card packs.  I then glued it to the panel just under the holes on the top and then repeated it on the bottom, this time gluin...
