Coaster set of 6 - round 11cm

Image
Home decor - Gift coaster set  Hi Craft Addicts! I have made this as a gift for a wedding anniversary so thought it would make a good blog as to how I made it! First of all, this is the Stamps Away coaster set which consists o f 6 11cm round and 6 10cm square coasters - both with their own holders. For this one, I chose the round one and so glued the 3 "sides" into the base (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue ) and then covered it with a couple of coats of the Pebeo Black Gesso which is really great at giving it a smooth finish. I also painted the 6 coasters in the same Gesso all over (including the sides) and let them to dry. Once the base was dry I added a Tattered Lace white circle and added a Tonic Studios black layer which I thought looked like vines to it. I then coloured in a flower which I had cut out from some black and white floral A4 240gsm Popset cardstock from Craft Creations using Orange, Red and yellow Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and glu...

Butterfly decorated square tissue boxT

Square Tissue box decorated with butterflies  Hi Craft Addicts! Something different this time - I have had this tissue box holder for some time but haven't got round to decorating it but when my daughter mentioned that she needed one that gave me the impetus to actually do it! So this is the finished product - The lid is 12.5cm (5") and the box itself is 5" high and 4.75" wide ) and being paper mache it needed 2 coats of white P ebeo Studio Acrylics Gesso allowing it to dry completely before doing the next one..  Whilst the base dried I cut out the red frame from the Tattered Lace Starlights square die which also cut out the small butterflies that I used on the lid in good quality red card and glued them to the top using Tonic Studios funky glue pen. I then cut out 5 square panels ( 4 in the matching red cardstock and one in white ) using one of the Tonic Studios Scalloped Layering Die set. I then cut out 8 butterflies ( 4 in t...

Trio of cards with a Space theme...

Image
Five, Four, Three, Two, One - we have lift off! 3 small cards with a space theme. Hi Craft Addicts! I had just been playing with the Starlights metallic paints from Imagination Crafts (you can find the full range here )  and felt that the colours I had used - White Gold, Antique Gold and a touch of Green looked like a sand scene and then had the idea that it also looked like a planet's surface - (you can find many Tutorials as to how to used these paints on You Tube). I remembered that I had some of the toppers (and backing papers) from the Midnight Collections series from Hunkydory which I thought would look good and here are 3 card I made using them. The first one I tried (the bottom one) I painted a separate piece of card with the Starlights Paints using some Cut n Dry foam and tore it so it looked more uneven and glued it to the 4" white card - I then hand painted a sky scene using the Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers on to some more card and ag...

12 quick and easy cards to make during the holidays..

` 12 Quick and Easy cards to make  Hi Craft Addicts! These cards would be great to make with kids or for them to give to teachers etc, as they are made from fabric and foam flowers which are cheap to buy and so would be really great for you to make with children! Set 1 To start with, you can find value packs of the flowers at Baker Ross - the link is here   - they are really fun and you can make loads of different flowers and shapes with these.. Anyway - here are the cards I have made using them - as you can see they are all 3in square cards - either in white or cream which you can get from Papermania - The Glitter Pot stocks both colours  here  Set 2 To start with I decided what colours would go and made the " flower heads "  either by adding smaller flower shapes to the larger more abstract shapes. I then used some pre-cut 67x67mm deckle edged black cardstock which you can get from Craft Creations and you can buy them here   ...

Flights of Fantasy Fairy MDF tag

Flights of Fantasy Fairy MDF tag Hi Craft Addicts! As mentioned in my last post, I have been experimenting with various ways of using MDF and started out with a couple of smaller ones which I showed last time and slightly better ones (see below for ones made using Graphic 45 papers and my own abstract flowers ) From the smaller ones, I moved on to the Fairy one below which turned out well I think! I first of all used the Pebeo Studio Acrylic black gesso and painted the MDF (it measures approx 19x13cm ) a couple of times - I used a brush but the next time I think I will used a Braye r to give it a uniform cover.  Whilst this dried (and it is really quick), I cut out the beautiful image of the red haired fairy from the " Flights of Fantasy " paper crafting kit which Crafter's Companion brought out recently. The artwork from this kit has been painted by Morgan Fitzsimmons and is is really stunning - I am going to make a matching card and g...
