Crazy Genius Two for Tuesday different handmade cards

 Hi Craft addicts!

 I really love the stamps that Visible Image bring out and I thought I would try to make 2 different cards using the Crazy Genius set - but first of all I had to set aside my natural instinct not to put the gent together in the right place!


 How I made these cards:-

  • I first of all stamped the three different parts of the gentleman out twice on to white stamping card using Black Gina K Amalgam ink.
  • I then coloured them in using various alcohol markers - Prism, Spectrum Noir and Tonic's Nuvo to be exact.
  • I cut them out and stuck them onto some black card leaving a really narrow border around them all.
  • I then stamped the eyes in using a red ink pad (Rare Earth).
  • For the card on the left, I used one of Toni Darroch's Synergy dies to cut out the main background (I had added this to a previous die cut as a shim but felt I could use it as a proper one)!
  • I used Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to attach it to the front of a 6" square card. 
  • I had also cut out the Scalloped Edged circle (from Tonic or Tattered Lace) in White and I coloured it using Red, Yellow, Green Rare Earth inks and then stamped the Crazy Genius sentiment on either side of where I wanted to add the topper.
  • I used foam pads to attach it to the circle and then stuck it to the middle of the card.
  • For the card on the right, I repeated the process for the topper but this time left a slightly bigger border.
  • I then stamped the Crazy Genius sentiment at the top and bottom of an A6 Cream Deckle Edged card and the eyes with a mix of the red and blue inks from Rare Earth. I also did the same with the two fish.
  • I blended the red eyes in a bit on this one too.
  • I then added the main topper to the middle of the card again using foam pads.
  • Finally, I added 3 drops of Bonnie Blue Nuvo Vintage Drops to opposite corners of the card.

Products used for these projects:-
  • 6" white square card and envelope (any will do)
  • A6 Cream deckle edged card with white envelope
  • Visible Image Crazy Genius stamp set
  • Tonic  Studios (I think) Circle Scalloped edge die (but it could be a Tattered Lace one)
  • Stamps by Me Synergy Paper piecing die
  • White stamping card
  • Black card
  • Black, brown, flesh, cream coloured alcohol markers
  • Red, Yellow, Green, Blue Rare Earth ink cubes
  • Bonnie Blue Tonic Studios Nuvo Vintage drops
  • Black Gina K  Amalgam ink pad
  • Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue or Pinflair Glue it glue
  • Foam pads

Mother's Day flowers card Hi Craft addicts! I really love using Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons and so I made this card with one of the designs I created. How I made this card:- I used Tim Holtz Ranger Yupo paper as the base for the flower design - I used his Orange, Yellow, Red and Brown Distress Crayons - just added a few flicks of colour to the paper and then quickly used my finger to spread it a bit...  I repeated the process several times, changing the size of the flowers slightly. Once I was happy with them, I then used a damp waterbrush to fade the colours out a bit. I also used some of the Ranger Blue and Green Distress Crayons to add a faded background to it. I trimmed the panel so it measured 3" x 4.5" and edged it with a Black alcohol marker. With Love Abstract flower in pink, black and white on hand coloured flowery background square card Hi Craft Addicts! Today's card is a result of using a background I have created myself using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons along with dies from Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me. How I made this card:- I had been playing with some Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to make the flowery background (it measures approx 5" square as the card itself is a 6" one - to do it, I used Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, experimenting with the "strokes"  I used - it took a bit of time to get the effect right - I used normal stamping paper this time rather than Yupo as it gives a totally different effect. I also used a paintbrush and some water to blend them in even more. Once I was happy with what I had done, I then added some green alcohol marker to create the stalks and some faded blue and yellow spots dotted around the pattern. Happy Birthday - Meerkat on desert background 7x5in card -  Day 110 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really enjoyed making this Birthday card - especially colouring in the background which I am pleased with how it turned out. How I made this card:- I had previously cut out a few of the Meerkats (a Tattered Lace die) using various cardstocks and thought that this Kraft card one would work well on a desert background. I therefore cut a piece of smooth white card to 110x145mm approximately and started to colour it in. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to do this-  Tea Dye, Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge are the main ones used - making it darker at both the top and the bottom. I also added a hint of green to the centre of the panel. I then cut out the oval label panel in the middle of it (I think it was either a Tonic Studios or Tattered Lace die) - I also cut a similar panel using a darker Kraft cardstock.
