MDF shapes - what do with them and how easy are they to decorate/use? Hi Craft Addicts! I have been wondering how easy it is to decorate MDF so thought I would have a go - the next couple of blog posts will be "charting my progress" from the first one I made to my latest one.  Home decor is now such a popular craft and so many Companies are producing blank MDF templates of all shapes and thicknesses and if they have been laser or cut by hand that it is difficult to know which ones to use or even if it makes a difference! So, now I have some to use from the small family companies  Dreamees,   Stamps Away and Imagination Crafts ) it is time to choose what to do with them - you will have to bear with me as this is definitely a "work in progress" and you will see how I improve (or not) over the next few attempts at making some decent products! As you can see from these first ones - I do have a long way to go....though I do like the black...

Happy Birthday heart square easel card  Hi Craft addicts ! Well, I have been busy trying to design my logo and banner for my new website which I will be launching in September, but thought I would post this today... This is a large ( 8 inch ) 350gsm white scalloped edged square card which I have folded to make an easel card. I have used the Tattered Lace Die - Heartfelt Tapestry (floral heart ) as the main focal point on top of the 2nd layer ( 7 inch ) of the Tonic Studios Verso Layering Die - Celtic Dream along with some Red Berry Nuvo Crystal drops (from their new Gloss Range ) and various Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. So first of all, coloured in the heart with some bright colours as I thought it made the heart stand out a bit more and then stuck it on some Creative Crafting World 's black card, cutting round it giving it some stability. I used Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to attach it, but think that I am going to see if I can get some of the Stick...

Thank you card - When a heart turns into a strawberry... 7" x 5" card Hi Craft addicts! Well it has been a few days now since the last blog and so I thought I better rectify that! I have been busy making my daughter's birthday presents and card but now have time to write this... I also must admit that this card started out totally different but didn't like it so started again! It all started with my having punched a heart out using an EK Success punch ages ago (I've made some decorations using this but more of them later) and after I'd used the Creative Expressions (Sue Wilson) Delicate Daisies (open and complete petals) in white and red, I noticed that they would make an interesting stalk for the heart...and so the strawberry came into being! So, I first of glued the heart (having painted on some black "pips" using a Spectrum Noir alcohol marker) on to a serrated edged square ( 3" approx ) layer of Centura Pearl cardstock ...
