Owl stationery - how to make a co-ordinating gift set

Image
Hi Craft Addicts Here is my latest idea (not new I know but I have put my own "spin" on it and as it is National Stationery Week I thought it would be an idea to keep to that particular theme! So... I have taken a plain shorthand notebook (this is an 80 sheet) , an A7 spiral bound notebook and a pencil and have added co-ordinating papers to make a cheap but stylish gift set - great for young and old alike (also it is quite unisex so would be good for anyone! Shorthand Notebook First of all, I covered the front and back covers with background papers from the Craft Asylum " Into the Woods " 12" x 12" pack. I then have taken one of the die-cut topper with the hello banner matted on to some black cardstock (I used Creative Crafting World  option) to make it stand out from the spotty background. I then stuck it to the cover using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (but Collall All Purpose Glue works just as well) as it gives you a bit of time to make ...

A7 notebooks with Nursery Rhyme theme from Graphic 45

Hi Craft Addicts! I really love the variety that Graphic 45 offers - their papers are an excellent quality and can be used for a host of different products. This time I have used the Mother Goose papers to decorate these 2 A7 notebooks (bought cheaply off a well known auction site) - they have plastic covers and are in a variety of colours so have tried to match the papers to the original colours! You could buy the more expensive Europa A7 notebooks which are better quality but these will do nicely for inexpensive gifts/party bag fillers...and the person who gets one will know that you have definitely made the effort to make them more cheerful. To decorate these notebooks , I have selected the background papers that co-ordinate with the toppers I wanted to use (there are so many to choose from) - and covered both back and front with it (having rounded the bottom corners to match the notebook) - as these notebooks have an elastic band paper holder you have to make sure ...

How to make a Post-It Note holder and matching bookmark revisited Hi Craft addicts! Today I am revisiting a Post-it note holder and matching bookmark that I wrote about last year - it would make a great gift for a teacher or just for yourself!    Post-it note holder Matching bookmark    Products you will need to make this...(see below for more information) HOW TO MAKE YOUR PRODUCT! TO MAKE THE BASIC COVER (see below for dimensions) Cut your card so you have all the pieces ready - you can use any guillotine/paper trimmer to do this or even an electronic cutter which would make it much easier) Score card at 9cm and then at 11cm and fold into a book shape Glue the 2 9x10cm panels into the both sides of the inside cover Glue or tape the 6.5x9cm panel on to inside back cover on bottom and left and right sides leaving enough space for the post it note to slide in - this is allowing for the paper backing to...

So many Craft products to choose from - what to do?

Image
So many choices of craft products - what to choose? Looking at the various craft magazines, browsing the various craft shops (such as   Handy Hippo , DoCrafts ,   CraftCreations , you can find online and now watching the   Create and Craft TV   channel (the only dedicated 24 hour Craft channel in the world and now showing in the US too), it gets more and more confusing as to products I should be using for different projects from "am I using the right sort of paper", "which dies would be good to use", are digital stamps better than real ones to "should I embrace CD or paper crafting"?  The list goes on and on... It is hard to find a definitive answer as we all have our own preferences (I like all of them which makes things harder)  - there are also limitations as to what we can and can't use when selling our cards - does the Company have a flexible Angel Policy or is the license a strict one so that we can only make them to give away? Is i...
