366 day challenge!

Image
366 day card and gift challenge Hi Craft Addicts! Sorry not been about for some time but have been busy with Christmas cards and stuff! Now they have all be done, I thought I would set myself a challenge that other people seem to do - a card, gift or similar project every day for the next 366 days - I would choose a leap year of course! So, I am now frantically thinking of projects I can come up with that will be both visually appealing and "easy" to make (I think some will be harder than others). I also think that most of these items will be available to buy with 20% of any money I make from them going to 3 main charities - Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and a relevant animal charity. So, if you interested in seeing what I decide to do then why not follow this blog? I will also be posting them on Facebook, Twitter and possibly Instagram! Look forward to seeing you along the way  Felicity!' Gift box that can be used for...

Christmas Gatefold card Snowman design

Image
Snowman Seasons Greetings A5 Gatefold card Hi Craft Addicts! Been a few weeks since I last posted but have been busy making lots of Christmas cards (yes I know it is a bit late for some people) - anyway - here is one that I really enjoyed making as it just turned out the way I hoped! I had bought the Festive Chalkboard paper pad collection  from Craftwork Cards  some time ago but hadn't worked out what I would do with it - I know it is really bad as it is really lovely!. Anyway, I saw the North Pole signpost sheet and suddenly had a great idea and here it is.. I first of all covered the right hand side of the gatefold card with the North Pole paper (from the 8" x 8" paper pad ) using Collall All Purpose glue as it allowed a bit of wiggle time, cut it to fit the panel and then repeated the process on the right hand side trying to make sure that the snow line matched at the bottom! I then cut the Seasons Greetings sentiment panel out from the ...

Wooden MDF mittens - just right for Christmas

Image
Pair of wooden MDF mittens - just right for Christmas Hi Craft addicts! As Christmas is drawing ever nearer, I thought I would show you how I made these MDF mittens (approx 4" or 100mm). There are 2 different sizes so you could use one set for the tree and the larger ones for anywhere else! I have also made a box to go with them so they looks a bit more special. I first of all painted the two mittens (which were in the Dreamees Christmas MDF pack)  with White Pebeo Gesso paint and allowed them to dry. I then covered both sides with some red and white spotted paper which you can buy from Craft Creations and used some Cosmic Shimmer Matt, Seal and Glaze glue to "varnish" them - if you didn't want to use paper you could use red acrylic paint Using the MDF shapes as templates to cut the paper out, they were slightly bigger than the shape but you can use sandpaper to smooth the edges (it also seals the paper to the MDF). Once dry, I us...

Hearts and flowers wedding card which is personalised

Image
Hearts and flowers gatefold wedding card  Hi Craft Addicts! This is the card I made for the wedding of someone my daughter knows - wanted to make it special and one that linked in with the gift and gift box that I have mentioned in previous posts. So, I came up with the idea of a gatefold card (150x203mm) using the Couture Adoring Reflections die set and this is how I made it.. So, I cut out both sides of the die (there are 8 different dies that you have to use) in both red and white linen cardstock and placed the red heart behind the white right hand panel and glued it to it using Collall All Purpose Glue . I then repeated the process using the white heart on the left hand side. Once both were dry, I coloured the edge of the white panel using a red Spectrum Noir marker  so it matched the red one. I then glued them (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue) to either side of the card making sure that they were level. To personalise the card, I coloured the re...

Wedding or Valentine's Day gift box

Image
Wedding Day or Valentine's Day gift box Hi Craft Addicts! As mentioned in my last post, I made this box to hold the Heart gift I had made as a wedding gift... The box is the Cream/Ivory multi media 5" x 5" box from Graphic 45 which I thought would make a lovely presentation box for the gift as it is very sturdy and looks good without having to add too many decorations - I have come to the conclusion that I don't really like things that are too fussy! First of all I stamped the floral heart onto white card using the stamp from the Vine Heart set from Tonic Studios and then cut it out using the die that is in the set. I then used the die to cut out a "block" red heart in red linen cardstock which you can get from Craft Creations and the intricate heart in white linen cardstock which again I got from them too. I coloured the floral heart in green and orange using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and stuck it to the panel using Collall All ...

Hearts wedding or Valentine's day present, card and gift box Part One

Hearts wedding or Valentine's Day present, gift box and greetings card - Part one... Hi Craft Addicts! Goodness it has been a few weeks since I last wrote on here - really must try harder! This post is showing how I made a stylish wedding gift including the gift box and wedding card which is relatively simple to make but does look really good. Part One - the MDF Heart  First of all, I painted a MDF heart (approximately 8cm) in red which can be bought from Dreamees here  using the DR3 Spectrum Noir Alcohol marker straight on to the MDF. I waited for it to dry and then gave it another coat and repeated on the other side - I then painted the edge so that you couldn't see the MDF. I then cut out 2 "Love" hearts in white (though it looks more cream in the pic) from the Tattered Lace Hearts set. if you haven't got these,  I sell the die-cuts in white here  (Black, Red and Kraft colours are also available and using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue I a...
