Just Because.. smiley flower square 6in card -  Day 179 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well it is another scorcher here and this card I think reflects it - I have used a mix of dye-based and distress inks, For the Love of Stamps stamps and a Just Because sentiment... H ow I made this card:- I used a pre cut 67mm square of white linen effect card (from Craft Creations) and stamped part of the smiley flower (from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps Sunshine Smiles set) using Rare Earth's Clear Glass embossing ink and heat set it with Cosmic Shimmer True White embossing powder. Once it was cool, I coloured the whole panel using dye based/distress inks (Altenew and Tim Holtz) - first of all green to represent the grass, then red and a deeper red for the sky at sunset.  I kept on blending them in until I was happy and then removed any excess ink from it using some kitchen roll. Putting it aside to dry, I cut out the ornate scallop edged panel u...

We Stand Together trio of flowers using Tattered Lace dies -  Day 178 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well I am melting a touch here today but it is day 178 of my challenge and I made this card last night using stamps and die cuts. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out 2 lots of leaves using a Tattered Lace die (think from the Forest Pines collection) in green thin card or paper. I then coloured them with a green alcohol marker, used a darker one to highlight the veins and stalk and then coloured over them all again with the lighter green. I then cut out a smaller frond (again from Tattered Lace) in a different colour green and glued them all on to the front of a white C6 card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue - you could also die-cut them using Wild Spider adhesive roll on the back. I used a couple of different flower dies to cut out the 3 flowers - the middle one I cut from a background I had made using paints. I also edged the flowers with some co...

Bee Happy - Bees and honey jar on 7x5in white card -  Day 177 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well as it is sunny outside, I thought I would produce this bright and colourful card using some dies, stamps and alcohol markers. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out ornate frame (I think it is a Tattered Lace die) in white card and then the mat layer in black. I then used one of the bees stamps from the Bee Happy set from For The Love of Stamps by Hunkydory in Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured the body in using orange and yellow Zig Clean Color pens. I also stamped the Bee Happy sentiment (adding the two stamps on to the acrylic block at the same time) again with the Versafine black ink. I then stuck the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" white card (with the fold at the top) using Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue. I used an Altenew green ink pad (I think it was either Parrot or Moss) to stamp the flower in each of the 4 corners. Using Vers...

A flower does not think....just bloom hand coloured C6 card - Day 176 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really enjoying the effect stamping with an embossing ink, using white embossing powder and then colouring makes and this is one that I made last night. How I made this card:- I first of all decided that I would not have a panel on the front of the card and stamp directly on to it. I therefore used Rare Earth Clear Glass Speciality Embossing Powder to stamp the "If flowers... bloom" large sentiment on to it and covered it with True White Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder, removed the excess and embossed it with my heat gun. Once it was cool and I had made sure all of it had been embossed, I coloured over it using a variety of dye based inks - from Altenew (Greens, Reds, Orange and Yellow) and Tim Holtz's Mowed Lawn blending them all into each other so that it looked seamless. Once the colouring was done, I took a piece of kitchen roll and rem...

I will always stand by your side Flamingos and tropical things C6 card -  Day 175 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I hope you had a great weekend! Today's card is a bright and sunny one featuring flamingos, pineapples and leaves! How I made this card:- I first of all placed both of the flamingos on to an acrylic block and using Onyx Black Versafine ink stamped them on to a precut white oval layer that Hunkydory produce. I then coloured them in using pink shades of Zig Clean Color water color pens. Once I was happy with the colouring, I then used a sponge to add the blue ink around them (I used Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress ink). I left a lighter area around the flamingos, I stamped the sentiment (again from the Flamingo Party set of stamps from For The Love of Stamps) using the Versafine ink above the flamingos. I then stuck the panel on to one of the co-ordinating gold layers. I cut a smaller panel of white stamping card (so that it left about 1cm al...

Hello... flowers and leaves with foil C6 landscape card -  Day 175 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! This is a quick and easy card to make that uses Hunkydory For The Love of Stamps, some inks and some foil... How I made this card:- This is a C6 white linen effect card which I have used with the fold at the top. I first of all used a cloud shaped template (from Pinflair) and coloured a panel (again white linen effect card) with blue Tim Holtz Distress inks. I then stamped the Hello sentiment in the middle of it with a paler blue ink (from Altenew). I stamped the flowers (from a Hunkydory For The Love of Stamps set) in red either side of the Hello and then the leaves in Parrot Altenew ink around it. I also added 4 leaves to the blue part with True Graphite Altenew ink. Before adding the panel on to the card, I used some medium width red liner tape and attached it to the top and bottom of the card, removed the liner and placed some turquoise/teal foil (from...

Let your dreams take flight unicorn in silhouette C6 gatefold card - Day 172 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Unicorns and a hand coloured background feature in this C6 gatefold card for day 172 of my 365 day challenge. How I made this card:- I covered the two front panels of a gatefold card in the yellow and white gingham card/paper (not sure where it came from), trimming it to fit both sides. I then added some green and white spotty paper (from Craft Creations) to it, leaving about 1cm space either side. Using Tattered Angels Color Wash paints, I coloured the background to make it look like a sunset using blues and greens and left it to dry. Once it had dried, I added the Unicorn peel off sticker, trying to make sure there weren't any bubbles in it. I then stuck it on to some white card and cut it so that there was a narrow border all around it and stuck it to the left hand panel using Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue (making sure I could still open the card). I...
