You are my sunshine... hummingbird and flowers A6 white card - Day 211 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is day 211 of my 365 day challenge and I have made it using Mel Heaton's Signature collection dies and stamps for the focal point along with a Spellbinders background die. How I made this card:- I first of all stamped out the Hummingbird and flower spray onto white stamping card (the flowers on a pre-cut notched label) using Versafine Onyx Black ink and let them dry a bit. I then coloured both in using alcohol markers and Zig Clean Color pens - I tried to make the Hummingbird's wings look a bit translucent using pale colours - blues and yellows and then brown and orange for the body part. The flowers were filled in using Oranges, reds and yellows along with a couple of shades of green for the leaves. I set them aside and cut out the main background frame using a Spellbinders die in black card and stuck it on to the front...

Thank You, Birthday and Special day A6 white set of 5 cards -  Day 210 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's project are a set of 5 different (but similar) white A6 cards that I have made using Craftwork Cards, Hunkydory. Catherine Pooler and Altenew inks. How I made this card:- The cards are made in the same way and so I will go through the method for the Thank You butterflies and flowers card (middle row right). I used the Thank You hexagon resist topper and coloured over it using a variety of inks - pinks, blues and greens from Catherine Pooler, Tim Holtz and Altenew Dye based inks - they are really juicy so you only need to use a little. Once I was happy with the colouring, I used a kitchen roll and removed the excess inks so that the white stood out. I then cut a panel of green paper (from Hunkydory) slightly smaller than the card itself and stuck it to the front of it.  I used a strip of coordinating (darker shade) of paper stuck it in the...

Together... silver Mirri steampunk cogs hand coloured C6 window aperture card - Day 208 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a quick and easy one (as it is the weekend and it is slightly cooler today) using Tattered Lace dies, heat embossing and Craftwork Cards Candi... How I made this card.... I first of all cut a piece of Kraft card to fit inside an C6 white round aperture card and glued it to the back of the front of the card (if that makes sense). I then stuck the flap to the front of the card making sure it was the right way using a mix of finger lift tape and a wet glue. I cut out the Steampunk cogs out of silver Mirri card (they are Tattered Lace dies) and coloured them using Pink, Purple, Blue and Green alcohol markers. I left them to dry as I didn't want to smudge them. I attached them to the front of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue . Using Versamagic ink (or you can use any Embossing ink like Rare Earth's Clear Glass), I...

Happy Birthday toadstool and rabbit in silhouette C6 card - day 207 of my 365 day challenge

Happy Birthday toadstool and rabbit in silhouette C6 card -  Day 207 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for day 207 of my challenge is a bright and cheerful card using a die cut as a stencil along with some Tattered Lace dies and a sentiment! How I made this card:- I had cut out the flowers using a Stamps by Me die but hadn't found a use for it as a die-cut but thought it would be good as a stencil, so I took a piece of linen effect white card and using a mix of Tim Holtz Distress inks and Altnew inks coloured through the various flowers. I trimmed it to 90x140mm and edged it using a black alcohol marker and stuck it to the front of a white linen effect C6 card - I chose the linen effect so it looked as if it was the same as the topper. I then cut out the circle layer (Tattered Lace) in a light Kraft colour cardstock and then the rabbit and toadstool - again both Tattered Lace, this time in black card. I stuck the toadstool and rabbit on t...

Dream Big.. Flowers on rainbow background - emboss resist 7x5in card - Day 206 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I really love the effect of stamping an image with Versamagic and then heat set it with a coloured (in this case white) and then colouring over it.... here is how I made this card.. How I made this card:- I took a piece of card and trimmed it so it measured 90x140mm (approx) and rubbed my anti-static bag over it to remove any "debris" and then stamped the flower design on to it using Versamagic ink (you can also use Rare Earth's Clear Glass ink or any other sticky ink). I then covered it with True White Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder, removed the excess and then heat set it using my heat gun. Once it was cool, I then used a variety of distress/dye based inks (from Tim Holtz and Altenew), moving from blue, pink, purple, red, orange, yellow and green - rainbow colours but not necessarily in the right order!. When I was happy with the ble...

Thanks .. You're one in a million square card with hand coloured panels - Day 205 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my challenge is this hand coloured square card that I have made using a mix of Tattered Angels Color Wash paints and Glimmer Mists along with some Brea Reese paints too. How I made this card:- I have loads of these white pre-cut 67mm deckle edge panel (from Craft Creations) and thought I would try out using the various colours in the Tattered Angels Color Wash paint and Glimmer Mist sprays along with some colours from Brea Reese Watercolour inks.  I coloured each panel with various shades of green, green and gold, red, orange, pink and purple and lastly one with a mix of all of them. Once I was happy with the colour, I put them aside and let them dry. When dry, I stuck them to a layer of black card (Lynda Chapman's) and placed a strip of vellum/parchment across the centre of it (using tape on the back). I then stamped...

Congratulations on your baby - elephants and mobile C5 card -  Day 204 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I had to make a couple of New Baby cards and this is one of them using Tonic Studios dies and Ruth Watkins papers. How I made this card:- I have had these dies from Tonic Studios for ages and thought I would use them to make the main focal points of this card. I cut out the mobile and the 2 elephants using the double sided cardstock from Kanban. I then cut out the Bunny strip from a 12" specialised paper from Ruth Watkins (I bought it some time ago from Craft Creations so am not sure if it is still available). The C5 brown card was from Hunkydory's Adorable Scorable range and I stuck the Bunny strip to the top, cut it to fit and then added the remaining piece to the bottom. I then stuck the larger elephant to just above the border on the right hand side and then the smaller one on the left hand side. I used foam pads under their ears so they look ...

We can do anything.. trio of butterflies DL card -  Day 203 of my 365 challenge Hi Craft addicts! Am back having taken the weekend off blogging, though I still added 2  cards to my Instagram page to keep up with my challenge. I have always liked Gina K - both her videos and her products, and this is the first time I have had any to use so made this card.... How I made this card:- I took a 12" ruler and created the border around a side folding DL landscape white card (from Paper Boutique) using a black alcohol marker making sure first that it didn't bleed through to the back of the card. I then used a dauber and coloured the edges in Parrot Altenew ink (having masked off the inside part of the card first). I used the largest of the "Butterfly Kisses" set of stamps from Gina K and stamped 3 of them out on to white stamping card in Bamboo Altenew Ink. I then added the 2nd part of the design, this time using Parrot on two of them and Versafine Onyx Bla...
